Original Character Races
Use this space to describe any original races that your characters might belong to; this includes redesigns of traditional races, such as vampires or elves. You can describe them in any way you like, be it in the form of the race's creation story or a purely aesthetic description. Be sure to specify whether or not others are allowed to use your race to make characters of their own.
Re: Original Character Races
Once upon a time, the Universe was very small, and the only thing inside of it was a being which called itself God. God soon found that it could create things out of the Universe's empty nothingness, and began to fill it up. After an unknowable amount of time, God had done all it could with the space inside the tiny Universe. It had created things that were very small, small enough to fit many of them inside the also very small Universe, but now the Universe was full; so God decided to make it bigger.
The Universe got very big, very fast and, suddenly, God had much more space to create things in. It used the small things it had created before and put them together to form beings it called Angels. God made many different kinds of Angels, and each one was unique; but they were not complete. God wanted them to be more like it was, with the power to create small things. And so God created a new thing, and it called this thing a 'soul.'
So God gave each of its Angels a soul, each of which contained the capacity for free will and emotion. Next, it presented each individual Angel with its choice of a Gift. Each Gift was unique and contained special knowledge, which gave each Angel their unique abilities. Because the Angels had free will, some of them generously decided to share their newfound knowledge with others, and some thought that God had given them their gifts for them only, and kept their knowledge to themselves.
When God was satisfied with the state of its creations, it focused on the rest of the universe and found that the small things it had created in the beginning had, rather than spreading out evenly as they once had, formed groups. God sent its Angels to each group and told them to create something. The Angel with the Knowledge of Light found that it couldn't create light from the groups of small things; but it found that with the help of the Angel with the Knowledge of Fire (the two of them would later be the first to experience the sensation called "love") they could create large, hot, glowing masses, which they called "stars." The Angels with the Knowledge of Metals and Stone created large, hard, cold masses which they called "planets." The stars and planets moved erratically around the Universe, crashed into one another, and created general chaos; and so God created another Angel.
This Angel had the knowledge of an invisible thing, a force, which it called Gravity. The new Angel used gravity to make stars and planets and other created things in the Universe move in an orderly fashion. Some of the Angels were impressed by this new angel and its ability to control their creations, while others experienced a new emotion, called "jealousy." Most of the jealous angels were ones that had previously not shared their knowledge.
When the Universe was all in order, God looked at it, but it was not satisfied. It decided that things were needed to fill up the empty space on the planets. And, so, another new Angel was made. This Angel had the Knowledge of Life. The jealous Angels were made ever more jealous, and the respectful Angels were in awe, as this was a Knowledge that only God had had before. The new Angel could create life, but still only God could give the living things a soul.
The Angels with the Knowledge of Life shared its knowledge with others. With the Angel with the Knowledge of Light it shared the knowledge of "plants," and that Angel shared its new knowledge with the Angel with the Knowledge of Water. Together they created a place full of different types of plants, and they made it so that the plants could feed themselves and sustain their own existence. They ate the light from the stars the the Angels of Light and Fire had created, and they drank from streams that the Angels of Water had created. God looked upon their work and was pleased.
Next, the Angel of Life shared its knowledge with the Angel of Air. It told the Angel of creatures that moved through the air, and they decided to call these creatures "birds." Together they went to the place of plants that the Angels of Light and Water had made. The Angel of Air created birds that would fly, and the Angel of Life gave the plants the ability to make more of themselves using "seeds." The birds ate some of the seeds, but they also carried them away, and the plants slowly spread across that planet. God looked upon their work and was pleased.
When the Angels saw what the Angel of Life had done, some of them were outraged. "Why are those soulless plants able to create more of themselves when we cannot?" they asked. But the Angel of Life wasn't powerful enough to give the Angels the ability to reproduce; so they asked God to grant it to them.
God decided to grant the Angels the ability to reproduce but, because some of them were impatient and irresponsible, it decided that they would only be able to reproduce in pairs, and the newly created Angels would be weak, feeble things with limited knowledge and ability to function on their own; this way, they would have to be taught and tended to. Because reproduction became such a responsibility, and because they would be forced to share their knowledge, the jealous Angels chose not to reproduce after all. The Angels of Light and Fire were the first to reproduce, and they taught their child well. Because it was the first, the other Angels taught the child as well, and it grew to be very wise. It looked upon all the things that had already been created by God and the Angels: the stars, the planets, grass, trees, birds, fish, and the Universe itself, and the Angel wondered "Why do we call all of these different things?" And the other angels told it, "because they are different from one another. The grass is small and frail, while the trees are tall and mighty."
The newest Angel thought about these things, and then it wondered, "but we are all different. Each of us has a different Knowledge; so why are we all called the same thing?" and the others could not answer. The new Angel decided to give itself a name of its own, and it named itself Mastema.
The other Angels asked Mastema, "What does your name mean? What is a Mastema? A bird is a thing that flies through the sky. Grass is a thing that grows from the ground. What is a Mastema?" And Mastema told them, "Mastema is an Angel created by the angels with the Knowledge of Light and Fire. It is an Angel that has learned the Knowledges of many other Angels. It is an Angel that loves God. A Mastema is me." And then it asked them, "What are you?" And, so, the Angels began to name themselves.
~~~~
Time went by, and the Angels continued to create more plants and creatures to fill the various planets. God watched the things they had made, and found that they always stayed the same. The grass continued to grow, the birds flew in the sky, and nothing ever changed. And so God gave their creations the ability to change over time. The Angel of Life, who had named itself Caius, called this new ability "evolving." Of course, the jealous Angels wanted God to give them this new ability as well.
And so God complied and, as the Angels reproduced and more and more of them were made, they began to take on physical differences. The original Angels had many wings, but some of these evolved Angels had only two wings, some only one, and some were even created with no wings at all. Many of the original Angels shunned the new Angels for their wings, or lack thereof. But God treated them as equals to the many-winged Angels, and so they came to love God even more than the Angels that had come before them, and they served God and were happy. Many of these servant Angels began to work with Mastema, whose job it had become to name the countless things in the universe.
The first created Angels, who had many wings and very specific Knowledge, became envious of the new Angels, as they thought themselves better. And so they went to Mastema and said, "We are not the same as these new creatures. We are better, and we are stronger. Why do we share the same name?" And Mastema told them, "If you think yourselves so much better than these new angels, then you shall have a new name." But the first Angels did not want a new name. They believed that they should be the Angels, and these new, lesser things should take a new name. But God told them, "You are all my creations, and you are all equal. You may not force them to take a new name." And so the first Angels were forced to choose a name of their own, and they called themselves the Seraphim. After that, many different groups of Angels took different names, and they arranges amongst themselves an order. The Seraphim were the first angels, and so were at the top of the order, and the Angels were at the bottom. Altogether there were nine levels in the order.
More time passed, and creatures evolved in God's Universe. For some time, God had been watching one creature in particular that had evolved on a planet that Mastema had named Earth. From a simple animal had evolved a creature that closely resembled the wingless Angels. One of the creatures found itself in the place on Earth that all the plants had originated from, and where the Angels had started the original species of creatures on that planet.
The creature, like all creatures, had a soul with free will and emotion, but it lacked Knowledge. And God sent Angels to teach the creature and see what would come of it. Many Angels were upset by this. "What is this creature? What business has it to look like us? What business has it to share our Knowledge? It is not an Angel."
Mastema decided that this creature should be "human."
~~~~
The Angels taught the human speech. They taught it of Fire. They taught it of many things, but most importantly they taught it of God. And God spoke to the human. God taught the human things that the jealous Angels wouldn't share. Mastema taught the human to name things, and it named itself Adam.
Adam was pleased with its Knowledge. It was pleased with the place that it lived, which it had named Eden. But Adam was not pleased that it was alone. It had lived with other humans before it had come to Eden, and it wished for other humans.
God looked at the other humans. It found that they were not as skilled or intelligent as Adam. And so God decided to create a new companion for Adam; one who shared his natural skill and intelligence. But God knew that Adam would not be satisfied with simply another of itself, and so God took a piece of Adam, his rib, and from it created another human. This human was softer in body than Adam, and more rounded. God sent this new human to Adam, and Adam named it Eve.
Mastema looked at the two humans and said, "these are both humans, but they are different creatures; just at the Seraphim and the Angels are the same, but different. I shall call Adam 'male' and Eve 'female,' and they shall be known as different creatures." And Mastema, who had always had an eye for beauty, said, "the female, Eve, is very beautiful." And the other Angels looked upon her and agreed. And God looked upon her and God also said, "yes, Eve is beautiful." And God was pleased with its creation.
Lucifer, who had always been considered the most beautiful of the Angels, was jealous. Lucifer approached Caius and said, "We are Angels, and we are above these creatures, these humans. Why do we not have 'males' and 'females'?" And Caius, who was close with God, asked God to give them these different types (which Mastema called "sexes"). And so God called to all of the Angels, and asked them to choose a sex. Most of them chose to be one or the other, but some did not want to change and chose to remain sexless, still other chose to be able to switch between the two.
Even after the Angels chose their sexes, still Lucifer heard constantly of Eve's beauty, and he became overcome with anger. Lucifer was a special Angel. He had knowledge of a thing that no other Angel knew of. Lucifer knew of Good and Evil. God had forbidden him to speak aloud of his knowledge, as it was forbidden to all except him. And as his jealousy for Eve grew, Evil began to grow in his heart. In the garden Eden, Lucifer created a tree whose fruit would grant the eater his Knowledge, and God forbade all the creations from eating of this tree.
Lucifer disguised himself as a snake to fool the humans, and he approached Eve. "Eve," he said, "you must eat of this tree. It will give you Knowledge that no one else on this Earth has." And Eve ate of the tree. And she took the fruit to Adam, and he ate of the tree.
God went down to the Garden of Eden to speak with Adam, and Adam hid from him. When God asked him why, Adam replied, "because I am naked." And God knew that he had eaten of the tree. And so, the humans were cast out of Eden.
((And now we ignore the humans for a while so that they can build an ark and escape from Egypt and all that Biblical rot. Back to what them tharr Angels are up to.))
~~~~
God punished Lucifer for beguiling Eve into disobeying him, and it was the first time an Angel had made God angry. Lucifer was furious, and he began to sow dischord amongst the Angels. The jealous Angels blamed the others for Lucifer's punishment for sharing their knowledge with the humans. The other believed that they were justified in their actions. Some Angels chose not to take sides.
There was much argument between the two factions, and one of Lucifer's Angels was the first Angel to commit murder. This sparked a war in the realm of the Angels (Heaven, of course) and, in the end, all of Lucifer's faction were thrown from Heaven and forced to live as humans. When Lucifer Fell, his body was irrevocably damaged, and his soul split into two parts. The Good part of his soul stayed on the Earth, wandering aimlessly around, inhabiting the bodies of humans fr one of their lifetimes, then moving on to another, with no memories of its previous existence. The Evil part fell into a special part of the Universe that Gad had set aside, and there it created a realm of its own to fill with Evil creatures, which it named Hell. The Evil part of Lucifer's soul grew steadily stronger, and it renamed itself Satan.
Re: Original Character Races
(I have no problem with anyone using my races/concepts to make their own characters, but I would like to be notified about it so I can see how other people interpret these races/concepts.)
Hawkeye
Hawkeyes are a bird-like people, having wings on their backs and feathers growing behind their ears. They also have talons on their fingers and feet, and can use their feet to grasp branches like birds do. All of them have golden eyes, except for rare circumstances when they may be blue instead. Their plumage can come in many patterns and colors, though a lot of it depends on their parentage. When a Hawkeye is infatuated, they molt and generate a much brighter plumage. Because of this it is hard for a Hawkeye to hide their feelings for someone, especially among their own kind.
Most Hawkeyes are social creatures. There are several tribes, as well as mixed groups who travel together. They specialize in magic, though some prefer to use their physical strength instead. The magic used often depends on the tribe they are from, and varies from healing magic, elemental magic, illusion magic, and necromancy magic. Some Hawkeyes from mixed bloodlnes can wield multiple types, but these Hawkeye are usually shunned by their own kind and cast out.
Demon Concept
Demons rely on the spiritual power of hearts to exist. These hearts can be animal or human, but human is usually preferred. The more a person believes in a demon, the more power that demon can draw from them. They can use this power to evolve as well as just exist. If a person believes strongly enough in a demon, the demon can steal the heart entirely. The human then becomes dependant on the demon, and may gain some of the demon's power in exchange.
The human does not become demonic themselves, but rather has demonic energy flowing through their human body. Because the human body is not made to process demonic power, long use or abuse of this power is unhealthy to the human. Severe or especially long use of this power can result in the human evolving into a demon themselves. Because human's bodies are not as fluid as a demon's, it is not instantaneous change like a demon evolving. Instead the evolving human goes into a trance and form a red cocoon around themselves, where they will stay for about six weeks.
(This will probably be edited/added to as time goes on and the details become clearer)
