Rain Dance

"Yeah," Voltaire replied, giving her a quick kiss on the nose.

Kimi giggled and stretched up to kiss him lightly on the lips. "Love you Taire."

"Love you too," Voltaire answered, embracing her.

Kimi hugged him back. "You're cuddly" She giggled

"You're more cuddly," replied Voltaire. "I'm mostly muscle."

"Mmmm" Kimi purred. "I like cuddling you more." She snuggled

"Well it's kinda hard to cuddle yourself," Voltaire replied.

"So why don't we just cuddle?" Kimi purred. "I like cuddling."

"I thought that was the plan to start with," said Voltaire, resting his forehead against hers.

"Well you were moving" Kimi stated. She cuddled against him. "What's wrong? You seem distracted. Did dawn upset you earlier?"

Voltaire paused. "He seems to think I might evolve soon."

"Evolve?" Kimi asked.

"Turn into a demon," Voltaire clarified. "Might screw up my memory real bad."

"I'll stay with you" Kimi replied. "If you'd like me to that is. I want to, because I love you."

"I know, angel, I know," Voltaire replied, planting a kiss on each cheek. "But thank you. It's just...whole thing's got me kinda spooked, I guess. I mean, it's stupid of me since I've gotten past stuff like this before just fine. Just...whatever."

"Its okay" Kimi comforted. "I"ll stay with you"

"That's not what I'm worried about," said Voltaire, nuzzling her shoulder. "I don't know what I'll be like after evolution...if I evolve. Some people don't change much, but others lose their heads."

"I'm not worried. I know you won't lose your head" Kimi murmured

Voltaire laid a couple of kisses on her cheek. "I hope you're right." Still, he found her embrace and calmness reassuring.

"Call it woman's intuition" Kimi smiled.

Voltaire chuckled. "Something I'll never have."

"Cause we're special like that" Kimi giggled.

"But we men are stronger," Voltaire teased back.

"But women have a higher pain tolerance" Kimi giggled

"Because men don't have to give birth," Voltaire answered, sitcking out his tongue.
