Love's Requiem

Shaunee grinned. "Chiller Channel shows Syfy original movies all day. Abominable comes on in an hour, if anyone's interested in laughing at the horrible special effects and how the monster looks like Gimli from Lord of the Rings."

"I don't think so children. My house, my television" Kay stated, walking in the front door. She was armed with pizza boxes. "And I want to watch Shawn of the dead."

"Mom" Jylair protested. "You have a tv in your room"

"But this one is bigger" Kay chuckled. "Come eat guys, You can have the tv back after shawn of the dead."

Requiem sat on the bench in the mall, sipping an orange juleus, as his mother sat next to him, licking an ice cream cone.

Shaunee and her mother were out shopping that day, both of them having decided that they needed to update their wardrobes and try to find some things for various cosplay costumes they were putting together. They had just come out of the one dollar accessory shop with a bagful of new jewelry when Shaunee spotted Requiem.

"Hiiiiii~ Requiem!" she called across the hall, hurrying over and waving ecstatically.

Requiem looked up in surprise at about the same time as Chastity saw Beya. "Oh, um, Hi... Shaunee, right?"

"Beya!" Chastity chirped, waving happily (and a little over enthusiastically judging by how she almost dropped her ice cream).

Shaunee giggled and clasped her hands behind her back, nodding. "That's right! I'm glad you remembered. How are you?"

"Hi, Chass!" Beya said, hurrying over to join them. "Hi, Requiem!"

After a few minutes of idle chatter between the four of them and some catching up on recent events, Beya suggested that they do the rest of the day's shopping together, and even offered to treat them all to lunch later.

Requiem, having been raised to be a gentleman, immediately offered to carry Beya and Shaunee's bags. He had already been carrying Chastity's, having learned at his father's example of never letting Chastity carry the bags if he could help it (She would often make Requiem split them with her anyway).

"So what else are you here to get? We have to get Reck some more uniform pants- he's growing like a weed!" Chastity giggled "Next thing you know he'll be as tall and skinny as Rene!"

Beya snorted with laughter and shook her head. "Impossible!"

"We're just here to browse, today, Chastity. Just buying whatever the mood strikes us."

"Well then maybe you can help me pick something out for Rene, I like to surprise him every now and again." Chastity giggled.

"So you go to a public school?" Requiem asked politely, trying to make conversation. "Is it nice?"

Beya giggled and hooked arms with Chastity. "Sure, Chass!"

"Well, yeah, I suppose," Shaunee said, shrugging. "Nice enough, anyway. There are some real assholes there, but everyone gets along for the most part. A lot of the teachers are really cool, especially my Psychology and Business teachers. They're arch-nemesis," she laughed, walking a bit closer to him.

"Hm. Sounds fun. I have to wear a tie." Requiem grimaced "Everyone at my school is too busy kissing up to the dean, who's still kissing up to my father after an incident with my mother." He smirked slightly at the fond memory. "But I do suppose its better than where I used to go to school at."

Chastity grinned. "Oh goody! What do you think would surprise him this time? Last time Kay helped me pick out a very nice vintage of château for him!"

Requiem separated Shaunee and Beya's bags from his and Chastity's and set them in the back of their car. "So... Do you have a windows live account?" He asked nonchalantly. "Because, if you do, we could, I dunno, chat sometime? It'd be cool to be able to talk to you besides on the rare occasions that we both go to Jay's on the same day"

"I do, actually!" she giggled, blushing a bit. "C.H.M.M.@hotmail.com."

Beya turned and glared pointedly at her. "You are such a bitch."

"Not my fault I thought of it and you didn't! You're just jealous."

"UGH. Yes. Like hella."

Requiem made a point to raise a brow at her. "C.H.M.M.?" he asked. "What exactly does that stand for?"

"Something nerdy, judging by how Beya's glaring at her" Chastity smiled.

Shaunee looked over at him with a big, silly grin on her face. "Captain Howling Mad Murdock. From the A-Team; you ever watched it, Requiem?" she asked, snickering at the evil eye her mother was giving her.

"I've seen the movie. I didn't care much for it. I don't like action movies." Requiem replied.

"He takes after his father" Chastity smiled. "Thrillers and horrors and a good suspense or two."

"..." Shaunee gave him a blank stare for a moment, then grabbed hold of his arm. "You are coming over sometime this week, and we are watching the show. You cannot even FATHOM how amazing it is," she said, looking deadly serious.

"... Alright then" Requiem replied in surprise. "I-um, I'll come over so we can watch it. Just tell me when"

Shaunee blinked in surprise and then smiled brightly. "...okay! IM me tonight, and we'll decide on a day, okay?" Thinking for a moment, she hugged him around the waist and went to get in the car. "Talk to you tonight, Requiem!"

Requiem waved stupidly. "Mom? Are all girls like that?" he asked when they were gone.

Chastity giggled. "Only the good ones."

Requiem yawned and snuck his arm around shaunee's shoulders. They were at the movies, seeing some flick that she had picked and he was just glad that her father hadn't insisted on chaperoning.

Shaunee tilted her head to smile at her boyfriend and snuggled back into his grip. "Having fun, Requiem?" she whispered to him through the semi-darkness.

"Maybe." Requiem replied with a smirk. "Are you? Or Should I just take you home and kiss you goodnight?"

She giggled softly and snuggled more against him, "If you're gonna kiss me goodnight, I suggest you do it before you take me home."

Someone in the row ahead of them turned around and shot them a dirty look, and the person sitting beside them shushed them; Shaunee crossed her arms over her chest and glared right back.

"Oh shove off. If you can hear us you're trying to" Requiem hissed. "That's why we're seeing an action movie."
