Rain Dance

Kimi let out a small groan but didn't wake. Healing Voltaire had taken alot out of her.

Fiona was still glaring at Voltaire, though now from Adaire's lap.

Voltaire glanced down at the sleeping Kimi. He hoped he hadn't made her too sick. He had been carrying around that excess demon energy for a while, and he knew it was hard on the body. He quietly nuzzled her hair, and then noticed Fiona.

"Yeah, yeah, you don't me, I get it," Voltaire told Fiona dryly. Now that he was awake he felt better than he had in days, maybe weeks. The Hunter wondered why the little feline seemed to prefer Adair. Then again, animals usually preferred Adair anyway.

Adair himself was still asleep, unaware of his furry visitor.

Fiona hissed at him loudly.

Kimi stirred at the disturbance but didn't wake.

Voltaire lifted his head and stuck out his tongue at the little monster. This summon seemed to like him even less than Trevor, but for some reason he didn't feel as threatened by this one.

Adair stirred groggily at the hiss. Upon seeing Fiona he froze, not wanting to provoke the creature in his lap.

Fiona kneaded the fabric of Adaire's pants angrily as she hissed again.

Kimi stirred again. "Fiona, shush." She mumbled in her sleep.

Adair was increasingly nervous about the feline fiend, wincing slightly as some of the claws pierced through his clothes. Voltaire found his distress vaguely amusing.

(What parts of a scrabbit are poisonous? Are the claws poisonous? I'll edit this post if I need to)

(Teeth. And only the males are poisonous.)

Fiona's tail was lashing from side to side, threatening to smack Adair in the face.

The threat soon became a reality when the tail began to repeatedly bat Adair in the face. At this point the redhead seemed more annoyed than nervous.

Voltaire snickered, trying not to burst out into full-out laughter. It wasn't working well.

Kimi woke at Voltaire's laughter. "Hmm?" She mumbled groggily.

"Oh, Mr. Hero's getting whipped," said Voltaire, gesturing to Adair and Fiona. The tail continued to beat on Adair, who at this point was just irritated. He tried to carefully move Fiona, hoping the scrabbit wouldn't turn on him.

Fiona did exactly that. As soon as Adair touched her, Fiona whirled around and sunk her teeth into his arm.

"Fiona!" Kimi scolded loudly. "No biting!"

Adair let out a yowl, his arms immediately ablaze to burn the attacker.

Adair you dumbass, Voltaire thought, before suddenly becoming alarmed. "...Didn't you say these things were poisonous?"

"Only the males" Kimi stated, before reaching over and pulling Fiona off of Adair. "Adair, I'm so sorry"

Fiona hissed.

"Quiet!"

(that's right they're resistant to fire aren't they?)

"You okay?" asked Ava in concern, before turning to Fiona. "Bad kitty!" she hissed

"It's okay, I asked for it," Adair replied, looking down at the bleeding wound. He began blowing some white flame onto it to heal it faster.

"As long as he's not poisoned he should be fine," Voltaire assured. "Be glad it wasn't Trevor."

"I am," Adair replied between firebreaths.

Kimi closed her eyes and sent Fiona away easily. "I don't know what possessed her to do that, the females are herbivores." She stated. "I'm very sorry"

"I tried to move her and it surprised her, so she bit me," replied Adair, letting Ava blow her white flame on the wound. Being a pure demon, her flame was more powerful and healed faster. "Shouldn't take long to heal this up. No real harm done."

Now that he wasn't distracted by drowsiness or Adair, Voltaire looked around at the cliffside they were on. "No caves?" he asked.

"No, just cliffs and canyons," Ava replied. "We can see things coming though, and the sky's clear so it shouldn't be raining. We should be good."

"Where are we going?" Kimi asked softly.

"Tournament," Voltaire answered. "It's a ways off though. It'll be about a week before we get there."

Adair looked over his arm. Though there was still a mark where he had been bitten the pain was mostly gone. It would be fully healed before nightfall.

"Oh." Kimi replied softly. "Are we stopping to rest then?" She asked

"Yeah, sun's about to set," said Voltaire, pointing to the yellow-and-orange sky ahead. "Looks like these canyons go on for a good while."

Voltaire looked up. It felt odd to be under the open sky so late. Usually they were underground, or at least under a good cover of forest. It was a nice change, but it made him uneasy too.

"Alright." Kimi smiled and carefully got out of Voltaire's lap and off of Ava. She stretched, clothed in a simple dress this time, but one that still reached the ground. "I'm not sure If I can go back to sleep now" She confessed

"Same here," Voltaire agreed. "But it's hard and dangerous to travel at night. We can see better than average humans, but neither we or Ava have night vision."

He picked up a sack and got off of Ava. He opened the sack and pulled out of his contraptions to tinker with. He wouldn't be able to do much before it got too dark, but maybe he could make the thing look less like a fiendish duck and more like a proper dragon like it was supposed to be.

Kimi took a seat next to him. "What's that?" She asked curiously.

"A dragon," Voltaire replied, fully unfolding the contraption.

"It looks like a duck with teeth," remarked Adair as he climbed off of Ava.

"It's a dragon."

"It's a duck."

"It's a dragon!"

"... What's a dragon look like?" Kimi asked. "I've never seen one before"
