Rain Dance

"Ohh" Kimi smiled at him. "I guess I can try and make him more comfortable around us."

"And what do you mean by that?" Voltaire asked lazily.

"I can act like a princess around him" Kimi replied. "I'll be quiet and dainty and stay out of everyone's way. That way I don't distract either of you"

"Bah, he can get used to it. He's around us all the time. He should take notes," Voltaire replied, sticking his tongue out. "That might not be a bad idea when we're out in public though. Not that everyone doesn't know already apparently, but still..."

"I though I was behaving well in public." Kimi replied innocently. She laid her head on his chest.

"...Yeah, I guess it was really my fault then," Voltaire answered after he thought about it. He never was one for restraint. He started stroking her hair again. "Behaving's not really my specialty."

"Hmmmm" Kimi purred at his touch. "What do you mean?"

"Acting in a way I don't feel," Voltaire answered. "Like being pissed off at somebody and not acting pissed off. Or saying something looks good when it actually looks horrible. I don't know how Adair does it."

"Well, You're behaving now... Right?" Kimi asked with a smile.

"Sort of," he replied, planting kisses on her forehead and cheeks.

Kimi tilted her face up toward him. "You're not?" She asked. "How are you misbehaving?"

"If I was behaving I'd be acting all chaste and stuff," Voltaire answered, placing a kiss dangerously close to her neck. "I'm not feeling very chaste."

Kimi blushed. "Taire, what are you doing?" she asked softly

"Misbehaving," he whispered into her ear before kissing it. He embraced her and pulled her closer. Then he heard footsteps as Ava came in.

"Oh hi Volty!" greeted the phoenix, oblivious. "And hi Kimi! Is she feeling better?"

"...Yeah," Voltaire answered.

Kimi hid her face in Voltaire's shirt, the very tips of her ears turning green.

Ava, being unfamiliar with such things, took little note of it. "I brought food."

"I just ate."

"Then eat more," said Ava, plopping down a basket full of fruits and bread at their feet. "Where's Fiery?"

"Out," replied Voltaire, the smell of the food making him hungry again. "Probably getting something to eat himself."

"You should go find him" Kimi murmured. "Make sure he's okay." She peaked out of Voltaire's shirt. "Don't you think so Taire? She should go hang out with Adair and stay with him for a bit to make sure he's behaving... Right?"

"I'm sure he-" Voltaire began, before he caught on. "Now that I think of it, he was saying something about wolf girl wanting to eat him up. And maybe letting her do it."

"Why would he want to get eaten?" asked Ava with a warble of concern.

"I dunno. Maybe he's depressed. Or lonely," Voltaire replied, nuzzling Kimi's hair some. "Anyway, go find him and make sure he doesn't get eaten. Or something."

"I will," said Ava, leaving swiftly. "I don't want Fiery to get eaten."

After Ava was gone, Voltaire snickered. Adair was going to be pissed later.

Kimi hid her face again. "I can't believe I just did that..." She murmured. "Someone's going to have to tell her eventually you know."

"Probably Adair," Voltaire answered with a smirk. "...Guess I can behave after all."

"Liar." Kimi mumbled. "And you even got me to misbehave" She pouted up at him.

"Well...yeah," Voltaire answered with a smirk. "I suck at lying."

Kimi blushed darker at his tone of voice. "Are you going to finish what you started?" She asked pointedly.

Voltaire laughed at her surprising bluntness. "You want it that bad huh?" he asked, giving her a quick peck on the neck.

"I want cuddled. At the very least." Kimi mumbled. "You obviously had other plans."
