Rain Dance

"Ah~" Kimi moaned, rocking faster.

Voltaire heard himself calling her name over and over until he cried out in his orgasm.

Kimi gasped loudly and arched as her own orgasm struck.

Voltaire laid there in a daze, catching his breath.

Kimi lay forward on his chest. She made an appreciative noise.

Voltaire smiled and wrapped his arms around her. "You have fun?"

"Mmhmm" Kimi purred

"Me too," Voltaire answered, kissing the top of her head.

Kimi hummed again. "Love you Taire" She murmured

"Love you too," Voltaire answered, nuzzling her hair before he laid his head back down on the pillows.

Kimi sighed and closed her eyes.

Voltaire stroked her hair for a while. Eventually he drifted off to sleep.

The end of the week came quickly.

Voltaire thought he would be bored most of the remaining time. This was disproven as he realized that he still needed a gift for Kimi. He wanted to kick himself for not realizing this sooner. He had spent most of his free time working on a cloak of black bear fur, hurriedly working on the details even on the last day.

As per the tradition of the ritual, Kimi was absent with Dawn until sunset. Damon came to fetch Voltaire just before the sun slipped below the horizon. "Are you ready?" He asked

Voltaire did a few more stitches on the cloak. He would have preferred more time, but it was presentable. He hoped. If nothing else he could always fix it more later if there were issues. "Yeah, I guess so."

"You might want to leave that here. you can give it to her later." Damon stated. "We're going into the woods."

"Alright," Voltaire replied. He didn't want to get blood on it. "Let's go then."

Damon led Voltaire out of the house and into the woods. They walked for a short while until they came to a clearing where a large wicked looking cauldron was set up, bubbling away. Kimi was kneeling on the ground a few feet away from the cauldron, meditating. Damon gestured for Voltaire to do the same.

Voltaire followed the silent suggestion, not saying a word himself. He looked around warily. This place seemed awfully exposed to do such a ceremony.

Dawn stepped forward. "Do you want me to put up the barrier now?" He asked softly.

Damon nodded and gestured him closer.

Dawn obliged and Damon pulled him into a fierce kiss. When he pulled away there was a harder silver glow to Dawn's golden orange eyes. He stepped back and gave a shuddered breath. He closed his eyes (but not before they rolled up into his head) and slowly a golden barrier flickered to life around the clearing before fading until it was barely visible.

Damon stepped up to the cauldron again. "Voltaire Zephyr. Do you accept the task being asked of you? Do you accept the task of protecting the princess, soon to be your bonded life mate, with your life? To bring her joy, and support her through any sorrow?"

Voltaire bowed his head. "I do."

Damon turned to Kimi.

"Kimi. Do you understand the risks of this ceremony? Do you understand how this will effect your magic and your life span? Do you understand that with this you will be joined mind, body and soul with this mortal? Do you accept this fate?"

"Without hesitation" Kimi murmured.

"Then I ask the two of you to disrobe."

Kimi gracefully stood and slipped her dress off her shoulders where it pooled around her feet.

Voltaire also got to his feet and stripped, his outfit taking a bit longer to shed than Kimi's.

Damon dipped his hand into the cauldron. He drew his hand out, dripping with potion, and strode over to the two. He drew a rune on Kimi's chest, over her heart, then a matching rune on Voltaire's.

Kimi bit her lip. The potion was scalding hot, but that wasn't what hurt. The rune burned an endless pain to her skin, radiating across her body.

"On your knees" Damon commanded the two of them.

Kimi obeyed immediately.
