Rain Dance

Voltaire followed suit, kneeling next to Kimi. The rune felt like acid on his chest, and he felt a strange warmth burning in some of his muscles, but he kept his expression stern.

"Blood doth bond mates. Blood doth bond lovers" Damon stated, his glamour fading away to show him for himself. He motioned for them to lay down.

Once they were both on the ground, Damon reached down and slit open Kimi's chest over the rune he drew over her heart. He then did the same to Voltaire.

He used a ladel to pour potion into both new wounds.

Kimi gave a small whimper.

Voltaire bit back a cry as a sudden shock went through his system. Was it from the rune or scalding potion?

He forced himself to relax. He didn't want Ava flying over in a panic.

Damon reached down into Kimi's chest and split her ribs open with a sickening crack. He removed something slick and red that made Kimi arch and cry out in pain. He ignored her and turned to Voltaire. He reached into Voltaire's chest and cracked his ribs open as well, forcing his hand past his lungs to where his heart would rest. He released what he had taken from Kimi and let it rest on the fragile membrane around his heart. He then poured another ladleful of potion in their chests.

Their bones healed themselves and the skin slowly started to knit back together. Damon stepped over to Dawn and slit one of his wrists to let his golden blood flow. He dipped his fingers in the blood and walked back over to the two, drawing new runes over their hearts.

These runes filled them both with a soft, healing warmth and comfort.

"With these runes I bind you with the blood of angels under the protection of our races." Damon stated. "You are one"

When his ribs were snapped, something else inside Voltaire did too. Suddenly it felt like he was in two places at once. He sang weakly but with a threatening tone as Damon finished up the process. Broken fiery lines flashed across his body.

When the rune was drawn the presence was calmed but not gone. Voltaire laid there trying to regain control over his voice.

Kimi weakly rolled onto her side. "Taire" She whispered. "We're bonded now..." She gently took his hand.

"...Y-Yeah. Yeah..." Voltaire finally answered in an oddly melodic tone. He turned to offer her a faint smile.

Kimi returned the smile. "D-do you feel any different?"

"I...Strange. Very strange," he admitted. He wasn't sure if all of it was caused by the horns either. "Don't know..."

"It feels strange at first." Damon stated, cleaning the blood from Dawn's arm.

"...Figured that much...before..." Voltaire grumbled. He winced as the broken fiery lines pulsed once more.

"You'll need to rest for a few days while the demonic energies fuse." Damon stated.

"...Yeah...kinda...figured that..." Voltaire replied, eyes slipping shut even as he spoke.

"Kimi, you're going to have to carry him." Damon stated.

Kimi forced herself to sit. "Alright..."

(Why can't Damon or Dawn carry him? Anyway...)

Voltaire woke up feeling like he had been plunged into arctic water. He shuddered miserably under the covers, his body steaming slightly despite the apparent cold. His heart felt very hot.

(damon had to carry dawn because dawn is out of it because of the barrier.)

Kimi snuggled closer to him. She was still sound asleep after their ordeal.

"A-Angel," he whispered, also snuggling closer for extra warmth.

Kimi mumbled softly in her sleep.

Voltaire smiled a little despite feeling awful. At Kimi didn't seem to be feeling as sick as he was.

Kimi wriggled closer. "Mmmm, cold"

Of course looks could be deceiving, Voltaire thought with a frown. He wrapped his shivering arms around Kimi and gave her a couple kisses.

Kimi slowly opened her eyes. "Taire? You're shivering" She murmured.

"I-I-I'm fine," Voltaire reassured with a weak smile. "J-Just kinda c-c-cold."

Kimi pulled him closer. "Are you sure?"

Voltaire gave a shivering breath. "C-C-Cold..."
