Rain Dance

Kimi purred again, nuzzling back against him between kisses. "Love you too, Taire" She smiled

Voltaire gave a rumble of pleasure in return. He began to lazily nurse at her neck.

Kimi shuddered and tilted her head to allow him better access. She gave a soft moan.

He wrapped his arms around her waist as he planted smooches up her neck. His legs tangled with hers.

Kimi shuddered. "Taire~" She whispered.

Voltaire's kisses become more amorous as his hands began to roam her front, tracing formless patterns across her breasts and stomach.

"Taire" Kimi moaned again. "Taire, we shouldn't"

"Mmm?" Voltaire hummed in mild confusion, but pausing anyway.

"Not till you're all better." Kimi stated.

Voltaire gave a small noise of annoyance.

"I don't want you to strain yourself." Kimi murmured softly.

"...Not that straining," Voltaire mumbled, though he was already feeling very tired. All that training must have worn him out more than he realized. He rested his head against her.

Kimi smiled and rolled so she could tuck her head under his chin. "You only think it isn't that straining."

"I'm sick of being sick," Voltaire grumbled. "I try to do anything and I end up tired."

"It gets better" Kimi assured him in a soothing tone. "Don't worry"

"I know," Voltaire answered, nuzzling her hair. "I'm just impatient, that's all."

"I know you are" Kimi smiled. "Don't worry."

"I'll try not to," Voltaire answered, stroking Kimi's hair and kissing it.

"Just go to sleep Taire" Kimi cooed, snuggling into him.

It had been a long couple of weeks. The first week was mostly training, eating, sleeping, training, over and over. The Phoenixes were considering just staying in the area when there were reports of Gales approaching. Then Voltaire was reminded of just why they joined the tournaments in the first place: not to win the top prizes, but as a safe haven from Adair's relatives. Voltaire didn't know how much longer either of them had until evolution, but until then there was safety in numbers.

So here they were again, arriving at the latest battleground.

Kimi was half asleep on Ava's back, unfocused on her surroundings. She had been that way for the last week or two. Damon had worried about her, but she and dawn had assured him that she was fine. Then they had to leave.

Voltaire had been having odd zone-out spells as well, as had Adair. Voltaire chalked it up to high demonic energy levels, though he did worry about Kimi. He knew she wouldn't evolve, but that didn't mean the extra demonic energy was good for her either.

Other demons and changelings came over to greet them, asking them where they had been. It felt oddly welcoming, considering half of these people and demons he never really got along with. Adair slept through the whole thing.

Kimi raised a hand to her head with a soft mumble of "My head hurts". She leaned against Voltaire, keeping her face hidden in his shirt so she wouldn't have to interact with anyone.

Voltaire draped an arm around Kimi in concern while he chatted with the other changelings. He almost wanted to go to the doctors. Almost.

Kimi kept quiet. She liked being able to be this close to Voltaire for no reason. She always felt safe when he touched her. It was... Comforting.
