"Nice?" questioned Daniel. "You may not like us Heroes, but I wouldn't trust a changeling much if I were you. Do you like him?"

"Better than I like you" Anja replied. "At least He tried to be honest with me."

Daniel just shrugged. "Does he like you?"

"I don't know." Anja replied. "And I personally don't care."

"Why don't you like Heroes?" Daniel asked boredly.

(what are some of the troublesome things she's done? anything that could possibly justify a arrest?)

(nothing by itself. Just disorderly and rude conduct. fights. that sort of thing.)

"Heroes slaughtered my village when I was 7. When I was 13, My mentor traded my virginity to a hero to keep himself from getting arrested. When I was 16 a hero nearly killed me on my first solo mission thinking I was a damsel in distress and that my summon was a demon. When I was 19 I got into a fist fight with another summoner, and a hero made me have sex with him in order not to be arrested." Anja replied coldly. "Why not hate them? Heroes are the reason I'm alone in this world."

"...What were the names of those Heroes?" asked Daniel.

"Daniel, we're not here for-" began one of the Gales, but Daniel raised his hand in an order of silence.

"I don't know. All I can remember is the most recent. His name started with Z or something similar sounding. He wore silver and blue armor." Anja replied softly. She didn't like how she had to answer them, no matter what she asked. They were dredging up things she never wanted to remember.

"Look into that," Daniel said to the other Gales. "It's little wonder that you hate us then. Such Heroes will be found and punished."

(I need to stop writing myself into a corner on this thread lol. She's half-demon - any way they could detect/know that?)

(She doesn't know it. they might have some sort of magic to detect it, or the doctor may be able to find out.)

Anja turned her face away, once again revealing the half healed bruise that she didn't know was there. "Whatever." she murmured

Daniel noticed the bruise this time. "Adair do that?"

(I think I have a vague plan now, but suggestions are welcome.)

"Do what?" Anja asked, still keeping her face turned.

Daniel tapped at his own neck. "That. The bruise. Did he do that?"

(since she doesn't know, they can't ask her if she's a demon or half-demon and get an answer, right?)

(Exactly. Since she perceives herself as human, she isn't lying)

"Probably." Anja sighed. "He's the only one that's been any where near my neck."

"That's all," Daniel replied, getting up. "Let the doctor see her."

"I hate you." Anja stated softly as they left.

"I hear that a lot," Daniel replied. "Usually from villains."

The doctor came down and began to set her leg.

"I already set that." Anja informed him. "Twice."

"And it needs setting again," the doctor calmly replied, as he carefully did his work.

"That wasn't very informative," growled one of the lower Gales.

"Actually it was," Daniel replied. "But we can't detain her. In the end she's a victim, albeit a bad-tempered one."

"OW!" Anja yelped when her ankle (which had already started to heal) was snapped then re-aligned. Her good foot shot out on reflex and kicked the doctor in the face. "That hurt! Why didn't you warn me?!" She yelled angrily.

The doctor, more annoyed than hurt, scrambled for his glasses before her continued.

"So you're just going to let her go?" asked the lower Gale

"What other choice do we have?" replied Daniel. "The doctor will be running a few tests on her, but I doubt there will be any results."

"You horrible horrible man!" Anja hissed angrily.

"Perhaps this will help then," said the doctor, giving her a quick injection in the arm.

"OW!" Anja yelped, clutching her arm. Suddenly she felt woosy. "Wh-what did you?" She crumpled back on the cot, unconscious

"Well, this is a surprise," said Daniel, as he looked over the test results. "Looks like she's a demon, or at least partly so."

"We certainly can't let a demon go," said on of the lower Gales.

"Of course not," said Daniel, handing over the papers for the others to see. "Though I still want that investigation on the Z-Knight done. Chances are he didn't know she was part-demon either, which means he's be just as willing to harm an innocent girl. We can't have the likes of him sullying the Hero class reputation."

"What will we do about the girl?" asked the lower Gale.

"Have a public execution in a couple days," said Daniel, before smirking slightly. "I want to see if Adair comes."
