Soul Meets Body (MSPA)

Karkat Vantas hated John Egbert; absolutely despised the boy with everything he had. The Troll was so terribly consumed by his hatred of the Human boy that even just the thought of John ever dying made him feel unbearably empty inside. Karkat knew that what he was feeling was most certainly a Kismesissitude for the Egbert boy, and he'd even gone so far as to propose the relationship to the boy only to be turned down with the excuse that John was "not homo." What did that even mean? Why should sex or gender have anything to do with what was in his black little heart?

It took Karkat a long time to get over the rejection but, after a while, he was able to talk to John again without throwing a tantrum. He even accepted John's offer of the human disease known as 'friendship.' On a whim one day after that, Karkat gave John a set of coordinates and told the boy to Appearify him; he could just have one of the other trolls Transportalize him home.

John was a little skeptical about meeting the trolls, but at the same time he was excited. He had wondered if he was ever going to be able to, and he was starting to doubt that he ever would.

It was with the biggest derpiest grin on his face that John appeared at the gifted coordinates. He was ready. It was happening. This was... Wait. John's grin faltered slightly. Where exactly was he?

Karkat was leaning against the far wall of the Appearifier room with his arms crossed over his chest when John materialized in a flash of light. His hair was sticking up around his blunt, stubby horns and he wore a plain black shirt with the symbol for Cancer on it in gray. He also wore the faintest of smiles on his face.

"Hello, human," he said. His voice was surprisingly soft-spoken, in contrast to the way that he typed. "Welcome to Alternia."

John's gaze snapped to Karkat immediately. "Al...ternia?" He repeated softly. His eyes regarded the horned one skeptically, roaming his face down to his chest where... Cancer?

John's derpy grin returned and he practically launched himself at the troll boy to wrap his arms around his neck in a hug with a joyful cry, oh who was he kidding it was a squeal, of "KARKAT!!!!"

Karkat brough a hand back to smack against the wall, giving himself a bit more support as his knees nearly buckled under the ferocity of John's affectionate display. The soft gray flesh of the Troll boy's cheeks flushed bright red he clenched his free hand into a fist at his side. "Is that really necessary?" he asked, a soft growl to his voice. "Fucking humans and your ridiculous fucking public displays of friendship."

"Yes. Yes it was" John grinned "I always greet my friends like this." He remained hanging on to Karkat's neck, grinning his derpy grin. "Are you gonna introduce me to all the other trolls too?" His face was so close to Karkat's that their noses were nearly touching.

Karkat abruptly turned his face away, uncomfortable with John's closeness. "Maybe later. I was kinda hoping to spend time with... Well, just you," he said, frowning at the wall. He looked at John out of the corner of his eye, still blushing lightly.

"Okay!" John chirped, finally releasing Karkat and taking a step back to straighten his somewhat ruffled appearance. "Let's go! I wanna see where you live and stuff!"

"Whatever," Karkat grumbled and snapped his gaze to the floor. He jerked his head towards the door and stalked off to his room.

Karkat was very, very nervous about having John in his respiteblock. He already couldn't look the boy in the eyes without feeling as though he were going to explode if he didn't tell John that he still had feelings for him. He hadn't realized it until John was there in front of him, but their friendship had done nothing but make the feelings worse; now, instead of simply hating the boy, he was having positive emotions for him as well.

John bounced along happily after Karkat, pausing on occasion to look at something but always scurrying back after his nubby horned friend. Once they made it to Karkat's room, John happily bounced around and examined all of Karkat's things asking questions and all while still wearing his derpy grin.

Karkat began smiling in spite of himself as he watched the silly human bounce around his room. It made him incredibly happy that John seemed so interested in him and his life and his interests. A nervous flush crept back into his cheeks every time John glanced over to ask him a question, and he kept his responses short.

Finally done snooping (though could you really call it snooping with Karkat sitting there and watching his every move?) John plopped down on the bed next to Karkat.

"Are those real?" he asked, his derpy grin widening.

Karkat quirked a brow at the human in confusion. "Are what real?" he asked. He leaned away ever so slightly, not entirely trusting himself with John so close (and oh my gog, sitting on his sleeping platform).

John leaned forward, following Karkat as he reached up a hand to lightly touch the small nubby horn closest to him. "Your horns!" He chirped. "Are they really real?"

"Augh!" Karkat exclaimed. "Don't touch tho-ooohhhssee~" he said, his sentence fading into a moan. His face immediately went crimson and he jettisoned himself clear to the other side of his sleeping platform. "Y-yes, they're real, you grubfucking imbecile!"

John blinked at Karkat in confusion. "What's wrong?" he asked. He started to follow Karkat across the bed. "I didn't hurt you did I?"

Karkat pressed himself back against the wall, trying to stay as far as he could from John without falling clear off of the bed. "N-no!" he snapped, glaring. "Just... don't touch those!"

John stopped right in front of Karkat. "Don't touch them? But why not if it didn't hurt... Unless..." John gave him an evil little derpy smirk. "You're ticklish!" he declared, swiftly reaching up with both hands to firmly grip Karkat's horns.

Karkat's yellow eyes went wide with shock for a second, then clenched shut as the Troll tried his best to keep some measure of control over himself. He involuntarily grabbed fistfuls of John's shirt, pulling him closer. "Johnnnnnnnn~" he moaned desperately, "s-s-stah-stop it! Tho-those ah-are sensitivveeee~"

John's hands slipped when Karkat pulled him closer and he fell right into the foul tempered troll's lap, feeling exactly what the horns were sensitive to with his abdomen. He blushed darkly and froze up with a small "oh"

Karkat couldn't get his fingers to unclench from John's shirt and the muscles in his arms and neck were tensed painfully. "Hnn... John, I'm s-sorry..." he gasped softly. "I should have t-told you but I was afraid to bring it up... I thought i-it would seem weird since you know that I'm attracted to y-you..."

"Sensitive horns probably would have been nice to no about..." John stated, barely keeping from stumbling over the words. He shifted, trying to get up, but only managing to rub against Karkat. "S-sorry!"

Karkat further tightened his grip on John's shirt and clenched his eyes shut. "Ah, J-John..!" he whimpered, pressing his face into the human's shoulder. "P-please, j-just stop moving! Hnnn..."

John froze again. "I-I, um, I can't g-get up" John stammered.

"I-I.. I can't let go... J-just... give me a minute, okay? Fuck." Karkat sighed softly. "This... is not how I intended today to go. I knew it would be difficult... being near you, but... Fuck, I'm really sorry, John."
