"I'm glad to hear that," Melly answered. "I've gone to some art teachers, but mostly I just practiced on my own."

"That's how you learn" Mu smiled

"Yep," Melly chirped back. "...Though, do you know the one thing I can't draw or paint?"

"What?" Mu asked. "I bet you can draw anything!"

"But there is one thing," Melly went on, taking some paint and stroking the wall up and down. The streak turned out slightly crooked. "I cannot draw or paint a straight line. How silly is that?"

"That's not silly. No one can draw a straight line. Like no one can draw a perfect circle. Perfection is something unobtainable by flawed beings such as ourselves so we must always strive for the closest we can get." Mu stated wisely. "That's why many people are never satisfied."

Melly blinked, not expecting such a sophisticated response.

"Well...yeah, I guess that's true," she finally replied. "But there's still something annoying about it."

"I suppose so" Mu shrugged

"Oh well, we're not here to paint on the artist wall all day," Melly replied, finishing up her mostly mindless art and putting her stuff away. "I'm here to find Steven. He's an old friend of mine."

"Hmmmm" Mu purred. "What's he like?"

"He's gruff but kind," said Melly. "He's takes a while to get used to new people, but I don't think he should have too much a of problem with you. He doesn't about about my whole genius demon thing, but most people don't. A lot of the ones that do aren't my friends anymore." At this she looked sad.

Mu pouted. "I'll still be your friend" He stated.

"Thanks," Melly replied with a smile. "It's not like I blame the humans though. A lot of demons are bad, or at least mean. So when they find out they automatically assume that I'm up to something bad."

"That's stupid. How would they know you're different if they don't try to be friends?" Mu asked

Melly tried to think of the best way to explain it. "What are you afraid of?" she asked. "I mean, what what of animal or monster might try to eat you or something?"

"...I'm not afraid of anything." Mu stated. "Except sharkmeres. They're mean."

"Oh yeah, sharks. They're not pleasant as animals, much less demons," Melly answered. "Well, what if you had a sharkmere friend, only you didn't know he was a sharkmere because he was using a disguise or something. If you suddenly found out he was a sharkmere, wouldn't you be a little worried?"

"no. Not if they were already my friend" Mu stated.

"Oh," Melly replied, another explanation falling flat. "Well the thing with people is some bad people pretend to be friends, and then they hurt the people they're friends with. I guess it makes them paranoid or something."

Mu frowned. "That's aweful! Why would someone be so horrible?"

"A lot of times it's money. They get close to someone so they can get more of their money," Melly explained. "Other times they just don't like the person and want to hurt them. But a lot of times it's because that person has someone they want. Once they get what they want, they leave."

"That's horrible" Mu stated again.

"Agreed," Melly answered. She sighed. "This is depressing. Let's talk about something else."

"Okay. What do you want to talk about?" Mu asked
