Sweet as Sugar

"I can't think of any sour things I like," replied Melly. "Okay, done!"

"Huh? Done with what?" Mu asked. He had entirely missed that she had been drawing.

"This, silly," Melly answered, showing Mu the drawing pad. The sketch of him was very accurate, though maybe a bit more whimsical. "What do you think?"

Mu blinked at it before grinning. "Hey! That looks like me!"

"That's the point," Melly answered with a laugh. "Unless you want me to draw you looking like something else. Some people like that."

Mu tilted his head questioningly. "Who would want that?" He asked with a small frown. "What fun is it to look like someone else?"

"Well you know how you have fuzzy ears and a tail?" asked Melly. "Some people want to know how they would look with that kind of thing, so they might want to be drawn with those ears and tail. Or maybe they want to see a cartoony version of themselves because it's cute or funny."

"But humans aren't ment to have fuzzy ears or a tail" Mu pointed out.

"Well no, but they like to imagine what's it's like to be something they're not," Melly answered, closing up the sketchbook to make sure the picture was protected. "By the way, can I ask you something? And please don't take it the wrong way. Are you a demon?"

"Nope!" Mu chirped. "I'm a imp fluff." He stated proudly.

Melly paused, trying to decide if that counted as a type of demon or not. "What are imp fluffs?"

"I'm not really sure" Mu replied.

"You don't know what you are?" Melly asked with some amusement, before shrugging. "Sometimes I don't know what I count as either."

"Summer would know." Mu shrugged. "But Summer is with Gao now from when they left a long time ago."

"Oh? Is Summer a friend of yours? A sibling?" asked Melly. She liked learning about new people and things, though she wasn't always comfortable telling people much about herself.

"Summer is... Summer's like my mom. Only better." Mu grinned sheepishly. "I never knew my mom. Only Dirven and Summer and the Cirque."

"Oh, so you're adopted?" asked Melly. She wasn't about to ask about what happened to his real parents. "Is Dirven like you dad then?"

"You could say that." Mu smiled. "He takes care of all the imps till they get their human forms"

"Really? So you have to train for your human form then?" Melly replied, though it didn't really surprise her. Many demons she knew had to work for their human form if they didn't start out human. "So what's your real form like then?"

"Well, we get our human form when we get old enough. Sometimes we change early" Mu smiled. "Do you want to see it?"

"Can I draw it if you do?" asked Melly. She was curious as to what a red panda looked like.

Mu nodded. He closed his eyes and glowed a light blue before turning into a small ball of fur. He was just a round furry creature with his ears and tail. His fur was red and white and he looked like a little red panda ball. he squeaked cutely.

Melly couldn't help herself. She squealed and hugged the fluffball. "So cute!"

Mu sounded like a squeaky toy. He squeaked whenever she squeezed him.

Melly happily petted Mu's fluffy fur and gently rolled him around on the ground. She had completely forgotten about drawing him.
