Rain Dance

After that awkward little talk the Phoenixes went over to the bar as promised. This seemed to help with Voltaire's nervousness.

"We beat those Cats last time, so we'll beat them this time too," Voltaire drawled, before hiccuping up some purple flame. Whatever Voltaire had decided to try out, it must have been strong to get him buzzed up after only a couple of drinks. "Take that, Curtis!"

"They're still tough though," said Adair, his flame breath normal since he was just drinking regular mead. He didn't want to get totally fried like he had last time. He needed to drink water before he went to sleep, lots of water. Voltaire obviously didn't care, but the Hunter rarely did. "And having a hangover tomorrow probably wouldn't help.

"Whatever, I'll be fiiiiine," Voltaire answered lazily. From the look on his flushed face and the way he was swaying in place slightly he appeared anything but fine.

"...What did you drink?" Adair asked cautiously.

(... Why does that last post worry me?)

Kimi woke alone. Feeling much better, she decided to try and at least find Ava. She stood, only stumbling once, and made her way out of the cavern and along the tunnel.

Ava was talking to Fenrir when Kimi found her. "Oh, hi Kimi! Volty and Fiery not with you?"

Kimi shook her head, shy in front of the wolf familiar. She stepped forward, stumbling slightly, to hide her face in Ava's feathers. "I got lonely" She murmured softly. "May I stay with you?"

"Sure," replied Ava, letting her climb on board. "Riry, this is Kimi."

Fenrir, still in wolf form, nodded to Kimi before he left, probably off to find his changelings.

"Have you seen him in human form yet?" asked Ava. "He's really quite nice for a werewolf."

Kimi shook her head. "I haven't seen much of anyone" She murmured.

"You're shy. You should meet people more," Ava suggested. She paused as she noticed something far-off. "Oh there's Fiery and Volty. Oh, they've been drinking again."

Adair and Voltaire came over crookedly, the Hero supporting the Hunter.

"Guess who drank too much," said Adair dryly. Judging by his hiccups and fire he had drank a fair amount himself.

Kimi frowned. "What were you drinking?" She asked in slight confusion. "You're both spilling fire"

"Alcohol, what else?" answered Voltaire, still leaning on Adair. He began laughing, apparently finding this funny.

Ava gave an annoyed warble. "Back to room, you two, back to room." She plucked them up with her beak and placed them on her back.

(I'm trying to remember, is Kimi on Ava's back or beside her?)

(She was beside her)

Kimi looked up at the two men strangely. "Why do you drink it if it makes you act funny?" She asked

"It relaxes you. Makes you feel better," Voltaire answered. "You should try it sometime."

Kimi shook her head. "The only drink we had where I came from was water or wine. I'll stick with water." she stated. "Especially if your 'alcohol' makes everyone act funny"

"Wine's alcohol too," answered Adair. "Though I don't like it."

"Me neither," answered Voltaire. "It makes me depressed."

"I don't like wine" Kimi stated. She yawned lightly. "When is tomorrow's match?"

"Glad we all agree," said Voltaire. "Leave the wine to snobs like Curtis."

"Match is in the afternoon," Ava replied as they went back in the cave room. "Sleep now."

"I don't wanna," grumbled both Adair and Voltaire.

Kimi frowned. "You wanted to sleep earlier." She stated to Voltaire. "You'll want to sleep once you lay down"

"I guess," muttered Voltaire, sliding off of Ava. He started going over to Kimi in a somewhat straight line before he tripped over a rock and landed flat on his face. In annoyance he sat up and torched the stone.

"Volty, the rock doesn't care," Ava informed him.

Adair just laughed.

With a sigh, Kimi helped Voltaire back to his feet. She led him over to the blanket before sitting down on top of it. "Sleep" she stated.

Voltaire sat down, and before long was leaning heavily on Kimi.

"I love you," he murmured.

Kimi smiled softly. "I love you too" She replied. "Now sleep." She gently made him lay down before covering them both with the deer fur, they were laying on the cougar fur after all.

Voltaire cuddled closer to Kimi, nuzzling her. Soon he was fast asleep.

Kimi smiled and cuddled closer to him. She laid awake for a short while, just laying close and listening to everyone's quiet breathing before drifting off as well.

Not too surprisingly, Voltaire woke up with a headache.

"Finally up, huh?" greeted Adair lazily. "How are you feeling?"

"Like someone punched me in the brain," Voltaire groaned. "Whatever the hell I drank, don't let me drink it again."

"We've still got a few hours before the match," said Adair. "Rest up more if you need to."

Kimi had been up several times, but she always ended up laying back down close to Voltaire. Now, she was napping, clinging to his side.

"Might as well," replied Voltaire, looking down to Kimi. "I don't think she's going to let me up."

Adair laughed quietly. "I'm going to lunch. Want anything?"

"I'll get there eventually."
