"Because of how he was raised?" Kimi asked.

"Well...I guess that's part of it," Voltaire answered. "They've got strict moral rules, and even though they twist the rules themselves Adair still believes strongly in those rules. You know, a Hero has to be selfless. A Hero has to be chaste. A Hero has to keep up appearances. A Hero has to look out for allies and family. That kind of thing."

"I'll talk to him" Kimi nodded

"Alright," Voltaire answered. "...How long is this damn tunnel?"

"I don't know. I don't even know the way out." Kimi replied. "I was asleep when we got here."

Voltaire paused, resisting the urge to slap himself. "That's right. I forgot about that. But I do think the exit's this way...somewhere."

"Okay" Kimi smiled. "Lead the way Taire"

They continued to walk down the tunnel, and soon a light did appear at the end.

"Finally," muttered Voltaire. "I knew it was here somewhere."

Kimi grinned. "You're so smart Taire" She chirped. "I was lost the entire way"

"It was a straight shot after turning left from the cave room. You would have been fine," Voltaire assured her, giving her a quick kiss as they stepped outside. It was clear and sunny.

Kimi smiled. "Its so nice out" She commented.

"Yeah," Voltaire answered. "Not like when we came here. It was cold and drizzling then."

"Glad I slept through it." Kimi smiled as she gazed up at the sky. She missed being able to see sky.

Voltaire seemed to be having a similar thought as he looked upward himself. "So, where do you want to walk to? Any particular place in mind?"

"No. I just missed being outside" Kimi sighed, squeezing his hand.

"We'll be outside plenty once the tournament wraps up," informed Voltaire. "...But yeah, it is kinda nice to be out."

"I like it better here than where I come from." Kimi murmured. "Its so much nicer here."

Voltaire wrapped his arms around Kimi and pulled her closer. "Well that's fine because you don't have to go back."

Kimi blushed and hid her face in his chest. "I know. And I'm glad." She murmured.

Voltaire nuzzled her hair and gave her a couple kisses on top of her head. Then he heard the growling.

With some annoyance he turned to Caleb, who was in wolf form inside the cave. "Go find your own girl," Voltaire growled back.

Kimi blushed and kept her face hidden in his chest.

Caleb continued to growl, and the more Voltaire watched him the more uneasy he got. The cave stone around the werewolf was quickly freezing over. Frost came out with every shivering breath. The pupils were dilated and reddish. Something was wrong. Voltaire instinctively took a guarded stance, breathing out fire lowly.

"What's wrong?" Kimi asked in concern. "Is he alright? Why is he growling at us?"

The dark wolf started whimpering a little, becoming uneasy on its feet. Then suddenly he snarled and lunged for Voltaire.

"Whoa!" the Hunter yelled, swatting Caleb back with a flaming arm. The wolf yelped as it was knocked back, but then charged forward again. Voltaire spewed fire at him this time, which caused the wolf to yowl in pain and fall over. Reddish energy crackled within the fur as the area around Caleb became frosted.

"He's got way too much demonic energy," said Voltaire, one arm still raised and on fire. "It's made him deranged."

"What can I do?" Kimi asked seriously. "I want to help"
