Saving Soul

"Yes. And he was a lot smaller at first." Anja stated.

"So the summons grow," Adair noted boredly. "How many summons do you have?"

"Eleven. But the longer I'm a summoner, the more summons I acquire." Anja replied.

"Naturally," Adair replied. "So are you going to send the little guy to spy, or are we going to feed him pears all day instead?"

"Actually, I was going to send him to scout out the area. This is a nice wooded area, there should be at least one thief's hideaway around here." Anja stated

"Oh yeah, that would probably be better," Adair answered. A little treasure brought back could help appease Voltaire if he had any schemes of revenge in mind, which he probably did. Voltaire was bad about grudges. Besides, he wasn't terribly fond of thieves himself.

"If I'm lucky, I can get some weapons" Anja smirked.

"Preferably heat-proof ones," Adair added flatly. "Any supplies or money we can get would be good too."

Anja nodded. "Go on Wally, go look. You know what for."

Wally chattered at her before scampering off.

Adair watched the little rodent zip past his feet and into the greenery. "So he'll come back later and write about anything he finds?"

"Yep." Anja smiled. "That's what happens."

Adair looked over to the cave. "Think it's safe to go back in yet?"

"I don't plan on going back in. You can if you want, but I don't trust him." Anja yawned.

"Me neither," Adair replied, yawning in turn. "So now what?"

"... " Anja smirked. "We can make out."

"...Guess we could," Adair replied, also smirking. "Taire's got Ava, so he shouldn't feel too left out."

Anja scoot closer to the trunk of the tree. She patted the branch beside her. "Come on up."

"If you insist," replied Adair boredly, though he had an impish smile as he came over.

Anja kept her back to the tree as she returned his smirk. "Insist nothing."

Adair climbed up onto the tree branch, giving Anja a quick smooch when he got there.

Anja snickered lightly. "What do you think is going to piss off Voltaire more?" She asked

"What, him having to deal with Ava or him knowing what we're doing?" Adair asked, giving her more kisses. "Or is this about the bots?"

"All of the above." Anja replied. She gave a little purr at the kisses before wrapping her arms around his neck and nibbling at his ear. "I just wonder what's going to burn him more."

Adair enjoyed the attention but was not especially turned on by it.

"Who knows. Hard to tell with Taire sometimes," replied Adair. "Probably the bots."

"Hmmm. I wonder." Anja murmured to herself, before lifting her hands and lightly running them down his neck. "You know spots by now, but I don't know where any of yours are."
