Rain Dance

"No problem," said Adair. "You ready?"

Kimi nodded. She started to attack him.

Adair focused on evasion, ducking and rolling away from her blows. Whatever hits he couldn't evade he blocked with his arms.

Voltaire noticed the spar out of the corner of his eye, and was briefly alarmed. Well how else is she supposed to learn, dumbass? echoed a more rational if meaner version of himself. He calmed down, but he still didn't like it.

Kimi went to lunge forward but stepped on her skirt and fell right into Adair's arms. "Oh! Sorry" she murmured standing. "Can I go change? I'll be quick"

"Yeah, that would be a good idea," Adair replied.

He noticed Voltaire kinda-sorta-but-not-really focusing on his own training. No, Voltaire did not like this.

Kimi grinned and rushed out. She had to go and put on her fighting clothes so she wouldn't fall so she could be a better fighter and compete in the tournaments with Voltaire and Adair.

Adair walked over to Voltaire soon after Kimi left.

"I know," Voltaire replied as Adair was about to speak, not even turning to address the Hero. "Do what you need to do to get her trained. Just watch it. Don't hurt her."

Kimi changed into her fighting clothes and hurried back. She was tying her hair back as she rushed back in to the training room. "I'm ready!" she chirped to the hero as she neared

"Alright," Adair answered, walking over.

Kimi got back into her fighting position. "Ready?" She asked

"Yeah," answered Adair, taking a defensive pose.

Kimi started lashing out at him, trying to aim for his weak points and areas that were harder for him to defend.

Adair continued to evade when he could and defend when he couldn't. He found himself doing less evading and more defending as the spar went on.

Kimi paused. "Am I doing better?" she asked happily

"Yeah, a lot," Adair replied, taking a breather himself. "You even got past my defense a couple times."

Kimi smiled. "You left yourself open." She replied. "Is there enough time for me to defend before the match?"

"Should be plenty of time," Adair replied. "Long as 'Taire-"

Voltaire gave Adair a casual wave, turning around to run fire-accelerated laps around the gym.

"Alright then," said Adair, taking an attack pose. "Ready?"

Kimi took up a defensive position. "I'm ready"

Adair rushed forward and began his assault, careful not to put too much force behind his blows.

Kimi did her best to dodge and block. She was blocking significantly more than Adair had been but as she defended, she couldn't help but notice all the openings Adair was leaving as he fought.

Voltaire watched the scuffle as he raced around the gym. Kimi seemed to be doing well.

Taking initiative, Kimi ducked a punch and put her own jab into one of Adair's openings. She kept it a light tap so she could easily duck and dodge away again.

"Hey, I attack, you defend," Adair reminded.

"I know." Kimi smiled. "But you left an opening. If this were I real fight, I should take advantage of that, right?"

Adair smiled sheepishly. "Well, yeah, that's true."
