Rain Dance

Kimi giggled lightly. "Do you think this is enough for the dragons?" She asked

"Yeah, it should be," Voltaire replied, standing up. "This should be more than enough for Adair."

"Okay. Lead the way then." Kimi stated as she stood and dusted her skirt off with one hand.

Together the walked back into the cave and to the medical center. They ran into Adair just as they were about to enter.

"Oh, you're better already," Voltaire noted blandly, before shoving the flowers over to him. "Here, take these anyway."

Adair stood there in mild confusion, gazing at the flowers. "Uh, thanks?"

"They're a get well present" Kimi murmured with a smile.

"I know, it's just...a little odd getting flowers frm you, Taire," Adair replied with amusement. "Usually it's a weapon or a contraption or something."

"Whatever. There happened to be flowers nearby, so flowers are what you get," Voltaire replied with a slight growl. "Are the Dragons still in there?"

"Yeah," Adair answered. "You're giving them flowers too?"

"Kimi's idea," Voltaire answered.

"I feel a little bad for them" Kimi admitted.

Adair sighed. "They're mostly healed now, but they'll still be staying until tomorrow. Been pretty irritable."

"I don't blame them," answered Voltaire. "They've had to live with broken arms for almost a week, and it hurts like hell to get accelerated healing for bones. Anything useful about theri assailant?"

"Not really," Adair replied. "We talked about it some, but there was nothing new."

"Figures," Voltaire grumbled, walking by. "We're gonna go see them now."

"Alright. They might be sleeping," Adair replied.

Kimi held onto Voltaire's shirt hem again as they walked in. She was still a little frightened of the dragons, even though they had beaten them at the last tournament.

There was nothing to fear, as both of the Dragons were asleep when they found them. Their arms were contained in odd box-shaped structures which concentrated their healing and kept the arms still. Their familar must have been getting healed elsewhere or was out to get food.

Quietly Voltaire walked over and set his gathering of flowers on the chair beside them.

Kimi set her flowers next to Voltaire's. She glanced at the Dragons. "Taire? What are the things on their ams?" She asked softly.

"They're used to make the Dragon's arms heal faster and correctly. I don't know what they're called," Voltaire answered. "Damn things hurt like hell but they get the job done." He escorted Kimi out, trying not to wake the Dragons.

"Let's go see if Ava's done" Kimi murmured. "I'm getting tired."

"Me too," Voltaire replied with a yawn.

They went down to the cave room, where Ava was doing the last adjustments.

"Match in an hour," informed Adair, who was nearby. "We need to get ready."

"Oh that's right," Voltaire grumbled.

(thinking I might just skip the fight part since it's not that important)

"Okay. Is it alright if I stay here?" Kimi asked "To take a nap?"

"Yeah, sure," Voltaire replied, as he and the other phoenixes began to leave. "Shouldn't take long."

Kimi smiled and got out the blankets. She pulled them over by Ava's nest and curled up between them. She yawned and easily drifted off.

The fight had been more difficult than expected, but the Phoenixes still won. Voltaire grouchily waited for his antivenom shot at the medical area. Adair was already cured, waiting on Voltaire.

Kimi woke with a soft yawn. She sat up and looked around, looking for Voltaire, Adair, or Ava, but they weren't there

"...Wasn't so bad, was it?" Ava's voice was saying.

"Yes it was," Voltaire's voice grumbled back.

"C'mon 'Taire, aren't you used to shots by now?" asked Adair, as the three of them came into the cave.

"No. And I never will be either."

"Did you win?" Kimi asked softly.

Voltaire was startled out of his surliness. "Oh hey Kimi. Yeah, we won. Though I had to get a shot afterward 'cause I got myself poisoned."

"Would you rather be walking around poisoned?" asked Adair flatly.

"No," Voltaire answered. "But I still hate shots."

Kimi looked up at him in surprise. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Voltaire replied, plopping down next to her. "Just tired."

"Then rest" Kimi murmured to him, wrapping her arms around him and nuzzling his shoulder.
