Rain Dance

"...Alright," Voltaire answered, sleepily leaning against her.

Ava and Adair quietly went over to the new nest, where Ava folded her wing over Adair.

Kimi fussed over Voltaire some more. "I'm glad you're alright. I don't know what I'd do if you got hurt." She murmured.

"It's not a big deal if I get hurt here," mumbled Voltaire. "I hate the demon doctors, but at least they're good at what they do."

Kimi smiled lightly. "Alright. Just go to sleep, alright? You need your rest to fight tomorrow."

"...You come too," Voltaire mumbled, lying down on the covers and pulling her down with him.

"Alright" Kimi chuckled. "I'll stay. I'll take another nap" She curled up next to him with a small purr.

"That's my angel," Voltaire rumbled back, holding her close as he quickly fell asleep.

Kimi just lay next to him and gently stoked his hair until she fell asleep herself some time later.

Adair and Ava had left to get food, but Voltaire was still sleeping.

"Kimi..." he murmured in his slumber, snuggling closer.

Kimi woke at the movement. "Hm?" She murmured, trying to sit up, but finding his hold too tight. She snuggled into his chest instead.

For a while the slumber remained peaceful, but then his breath quickened and he began to mutter fearfully. He suddenly woke, aqua-green eyes terrified, trying to catch his breath.

"Taire, what's the matter? Was it a bad dream?" Kimi asked, scooting up and pulling his head to her chest. She kissed his face softly. "Its alright"

The fear in Voltaire's eyes melted away as he got back in touch with reality. He nuzzled her shoulder. "Kimi..."

"Yes?" She asked, stroking his hair and coddling him. "I'm here."

"I know. Thank God," Voltaire muttered, giving her kisses on the shoulder. "I love you, I love you..."

"I love you too. What's wrong?" Kimi asked with a small frown. "Was it your dream?"

Voltaire nodded. It had been a nightmare about Talmara, and he didn't want to detail it to Kimi. "...I'm alright. Just a stupid dream, that's all."

"If you're sure" Kimi murmured soothingly. "Ava and Adair left to go get food, but they should be back soon"

"Alright," Voltaire replied, planting kisses on her face. ""I should get up soon then."

"Mmhm" Kimi murmured, nuzzling his head softly. "But take your time"

"Alright," he replied, rubbing his face against hers. "I'm sorry..."

"There's no reason for you to be" Kimi murmured. "Alright? Just relax"

Despite his efforts he felt himself drifting to sleep again. He gave a few more light kisses before sinking into slumber.

Kimi continued to watch him and lighlty stroke his hair soothingly. She didn't want him to have another bad dream

Voltaire's sleep was deep and dreamless. This time he woke up peacefully in her hold.

"Hey angel," he greeted, giving her a light peck on the cheek.
