Sweet as Sugar

Mu let out a wild screech when the knife slashed his shoulder. In fury, his jaws clamped down on the Theif's wrist, biting harder and harder, trying to crunch the bone between his jaws. His tail was bristled out larger than his body.

The thief yelled as he tried to pull the creature off his wrist, kicking and even biting at it.

Mu's jaws only clenched tighter. He clawed at the thief like a wildcat. He was growling deep in his throat, unhindered by his death grip on the hand with the knife.

"Get off! Get off!" the thief screeched.

Mu growled again and bit down harder. Something crunched under his teeth.

The thief let out a screech of pain. The knife fell down uselessly to the forest floor.

Mu finally released the thief and dashed back a fair distance along the branch. He stared the thief down, his fur bristling as he hissed and growled at him

The thief took no time in fleeing the scene. He had been lucky enough to take away his own life, much less any possessions.

Mu hastily climbed down the tree, limping. He limped into the tent before he transformed back. He slipped his shirt off and started digging for the first-aid kit.

Melly was hidden under the covers, trying to be as still as possibly. She heard the hellish cacophony outside and doubted she wanted to greet either visitor.

Finding what he was looking for, Mu soon realized that he wasn't going to be able to wrap the awkwardly place wound. He glanced at where Melly was hiding. "Melly? If you're okay, could you maybe help me? I can't bandage myself..."

Melly peeked out from under the covers to see the Mu she knew. Then she noticed the wound and scrambled up.

"O-Of course! What happened?"

"He got me with a knife." Mu replied. "But we won't be seeing him again." he smiled "You're still okay right?"

Melly nodded as she began to dress the wound. "Still kinda scared, but I'm alright. I'm the one who should be asking you that, coming on all bloody."

Mu grinned. "Most of it is his." He stated.

Melly found little comfort in those words. It sounded like murder out there, and she was pretty sure that's exactly what happened. Or something close to it.

"Both guys'll live though. I didn't hurt either of them seriously." Mu stated.

"...Okay," Melly answered, and decided to leave it at that.

"But you're alright, and that's all that matters" Mu smiled gently. "Are you almost done?"

"Yeah," Melly replied, finishing up. "There, that should do it."

"Good" Mu smiled. He gently pulled her into his lap. "I didn't scare you did I?"

"Wound doesn't look too bad. Blood just made it look worse," said Melly absently.

"Not that. I ment the noise. I know we were fighting loud" Mu stated.

"...A little," replied Melly.

"Well I'm sorry." Mu cooed, kissing her face gently. "I didn't mean to scare you, just to scare that big bully away. He won't bother us anymore" He assured, cuddling her close and continuing to kiss at her face.
