Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"True," Maple answered. "But then there would be terrible overcrowding."

"Yeah" Pheobie giggled.

"Because people would still want their babies as well as eternal life," Maple added.

"I know." pheobie smiled.

Birds of many colors flitted above them, some fighting with each other.

"Either territory or love," Maple guessed.

Pheobie giggled. "has to be one of them."

A green fox dashed past them, followed by a small orange dog that looked oddly dull compared to rest the scenery.

"That puppy looks a little out of place here" Pheobie commented, watching it.

"It does," Maple agreed, as the fox and dog circled back past them. "Wait, isn't that-"

"Rolly!" Dalios called, as he ran into view. He paused when he noticed Maple and Pheobie. "Hey, what are you guys doing here?"

"Speak of the devil." Pheobie giggled. "We were just talking about you guys!"

"You were?" asked Dalios in mild confusion.

"We were wondering how you were doing in the jungle with all the animals," Maple explained.

"Oh," answered Dalios. "It took a while, but we got things sorted out. Most of the animals made the adjustment pretty well."

"That's good" Pheobie smiled. "Are the other boys alright too?"

"Yeah, they're around here somwhere," Dalios answered blandly. "Raze's off hitting on girls as usual. Falcon was sleeping in the shade last time I saw him."

"And you were walking with Rolly?" Pheobie asked with a smile. "You should see Goldie, he's gotten big"

"Griffins usually do," Dalios replied. "Not tearing up your ship too much is he?"

"Only a little," Maple replied lazily. "But he's getting better."

Rolly, apparently done with the fox, ran over to greet Pheobie and Maple happily.

Pheobie crouched down to pet him, wincing slightly and holding her stomach when it became uncomfortable.

Rolly sniffed at her stomach curiously.

Dalios also noticed the bulge, and seemed to come to a quick conclusion. He glanced at Maple, about to say something, only to change his mind and look away.

Pheobie repositioned so it would be easier, and pet Rolly, unaware of Dalios's conclusion.

Rolly bounced around Pheobie happily, no more cautious because of her extended belly.

"Ah, yes, we're...expecting," Maple said awkwardly. "Wild excursions into the great silver yonder to be minimized."

(she isn't that much bigger. just barely enough to show)

Pheobie giggled and pet Rolly when she could reach him.

(I know. Rolly's probably smelling hormones more than noticing the belly :P)

Rolly yipped and flopped on his back, showing his white belly.

"Well, congrats," Dalios replied. "I'll let the others know. Or do you want to tell them?"

Maple shrugged. "Whoever runs into whoever first."

Pheobie giggled and began to rub his belly.

Eventually Rolly scampered back to Dalios, where he pawed at the boy and whined. Sighing, Dalios picked up the needy pup.

"So what brings you guys here?" asked Maple. "I hope you're not here to spoil another vacation spot of mine."

"No, we're just here because we've heard so much about the place," Daliso replied. "We wanted to see it for ourselves."

"Its colorful!" Pheobie chirped happily.

"Sure is," remarked Dalios, looking around. "Reminds me a little of a place we visited once, or got forced to really. I have to say this place is more pleasant though."
