Saving Soul

Adair was relieved to see the Wolves nowhere in sight. It wasn't too surprising, since the Wolves were usually starved right before a fight. A little edge for their viciousness.

He did spot Voltaire at a table by himself. Well, sort of by himself. Mikaela was floating around nearby, annoying him.

Anja raised a brow. "Who's that?"

"That's Mikaela, one of the Dragons," Adair replied. "We met with them briefly a while back, remember?"

Voltaire, getting more irritated, spat some fire at her. She dodged and then drenched him with a quick blast of water. He glared at her, steaming.

"Oh.. right." Anja shrugged.

"...And that's pretty much how it goes with those two," Adair added, as he watched Mikaela float away and Voltaire sulk over his breakfast. "I don't know why he bothers."

They had finally reached the buffet, and Adair grabbed a plate to get his food.

"He obviously wants in her pants." Anja stated

Adair rolled his eyes. "I've figured out that much. I just don't know why he bothers when all he gets is a splash of cold water to the face. Or worse."

"She's playing hard to get." Anja smirked

"Maybe," Adair replied. Despite their fights she did appear around Voltaire a lot. "It's hard to tell with those two sometimes."

There were few tables available, but Adair wasn't going to join Voltaire if he didn't have to. After that encounter he would be even more surly than usual.

"Let's go sit with him" Anja stated. "I can give him some pointers."

"Will he listen?" Adair asked with some doubt.

"Dunno but I can try" Anja smirked devilishly.

"...I suppose," Adair replied dubiously. It didn't look like there were any other tables available anyway. He headed over to Voltaire.

Anja followed happily. "So how's your girlfriend?" she snickered

"The eel? Annoying as ever," Voltaire growled back.

"See?" Anja remarked to Adair "He admits it."

"I didn't say she was my girlfriend," Voltaire growled back. "I said she was an eel."

"But you didn't deny it" Anja snickered. "You know there are easier ways to get into a girl's pants right?"

"I don't want into her pants," Voltaire answered. "She'd freaking electrocute me."

"Want me to see if she likes you?" Anja asked innocently

"If she does I doubt she'll admit it to you," Voltaire answered. "But be my guest."

"Alright. And if she does? What then? Do you like her?" Anja asked

Voltaire shrugged. "I guess. But I like a lot of girls." He looked toward Adair and smirked. "Don't worry,your girl is fine."

"I wasn't really worried," Adair replied lazily. He knew they couldn't stand each other.

"Alright then, I'll see what magic I can work." Anja stated, as if she were doing him a favor.

"Go right ahead," Voltaire replied dryly. "Don't blame me if you get drenched or electrocuted or whatever. She's almost as crazy as you are."

"Taire," Adair growled in warning.

"You know it's true."
