Saving Soul

"Trust me, I am," Voltaire answered.

"So, uh, you want to go to the training area after this?" Adair asked, more to interrupt the argument than anything.

"Might as well. You want to show me how to better use my 'fire power' don't you?" Anja asked

"Yeah," Adair replied. "It'll make the fight against the Wolves a lot easier."

"What, is Anja fighting in the next match?" asked Voltaire.

"Yeah, me and Anja," Adair replied.

"Not worried about Belle?" asked Voltaire with a smirk.

"I'd be more worried that you two would fight each other than the Wolves if you went together," Adair answered.

"Didn't I say that I wanted to fight against the wolves with Voltaire?" Anja asked. "I don't want you in the fight."

Adair blinked. "I only remember you wanting to fight with the Wolves."

"Why do you want to fight with me instead of Adair?" asked Voltaire.

"I can trust you around the wolf girl." Anja stated

Adair huffed. "I've fought Belle before. She's usually the one I fight anyway."

"I figured. And that's why I don't want you to fight." Anja stated

"I assume you want to take on wolf girl yourself?" asked Voltaire with a smirk.

"Yes." Anja replied stiffly.

"Fine, she's all yours," Voltaire replied. "I bet she'll be just as eager to fight you too."

"Which is why we're going to train some," added Adair, getting up to dump his plate.

"I don't need to. I'm only doing it to pacify you." Anja stated.

"There's never such a thing as not needing practice, even if you are experienced," Adair replied stiffly.

"I ment learning to use my fire power" Anja replied

"That's what I meant too," said Adair, as he dumped his plate. "Training's a good place to experiment with new moves, things like that."

"Well then let's get it over with" Anja stated

"Alright," Adair replied.

"Let me finish first." Anja protested.

Adair sat on Ava's back, feeling antsy. He knew it shouldn't be too bad: they had the type advantage, and Voltaire was there in case Anja needed backup. It wasn't like they were facing the Dragons. Still, he noticed Belle, currently in wolf form, looked especially angry. Caleb, human and otherwise eager to fight, was standing further away from her than usual.

Voltaire wasn't too worried. He just wanted the fight to start already.

Anja was in a foul mood from training, and if looks could kill, the match would already be over.

One glance at Anja seemed to wither Caleb's fighting spirit. Voltaire snickered. That made his job easier.

The demon dog howled.

Anja strode forward coldly, fists clenched at her side. She strode toward Belle, planning to beat her the same way she trained her summons; by letting her bite her.

Belle took the bait, charging forward and chomping down on Anja's arm.

A few feet away, Voltaire and Caleb were exchanging elements and blows.

Smirking angrily, Anja grabbed Belle's scruff and crammed her arm as far back as she could, which, given the canine mouth was pretty damn far.

Unable to keep her bite, Belle blew out a blast of freezing breath instead.
