Saving Soul

Anja countered it with a small bout of flame. Only enough to ward off the icy cold. She crammed her arm even farther back into Belle's mouth. "No" She growled. "Bad" Her grip on Belle's scruff tightened. "Now Sit"

Belle's growling grew louder. She summoned a storm of ice shards and fired at Anja.

Anja let herself ignite, not caring that her cotton shirt burned up as she stood there blazing (The pants were made of a sturdier material more reluctant to burn), her top bare for all to see. She Jerked Belle to the ground, her hand moving from Belle's scruff to her neck. Her glare was fiercer. "Bad. Down"

Adair felt his face grow beet red. We've got to get her something more fireproof.

There were some cat calls and whistling from the audience. Caleb and Voltaire paused their battle briefly to see what was going on, soon got their answer.

Damn that girl's distracting, Voltaire thought, frying Caleb with firebreath as he stood there staring at Anja.

Belle snarled, an icy armor forming over her fur as she thrashed.

Anja could feel Belle's trachea under her fingers; feel it shiver with the snarl; feel it struggle for air. With a snarl of her own, her grip tightened. She breathed a low burst of fire over the wolf changeling. "Stay away from Adair" She snarled in Belle's ear. "Or else."

Belle shifted into semi-human form, her expression still as vicious as ever.

"This isn't about Fiery. I just don't like you," she rasped. She summoned ice claws and stabbed them through Anja's arm.

Anja released her and stumbled back with a snarl of her own. "Good" She hissed "Then I don't have to hold back." With that she launched herself at the Wolf Girl, Murder in her eyes.

Belle summoned more icy armor while firing more ice shards at Anja.

Anja allowed herself to ignite again and countered Belle's blasts with blasts of her own. She wanted to get close enough to get her hands back on the changeling's throat.

Belle spat ice breath at both Anja and at the ground. The places struck became coated with slick ice. If melted, it would turn to less slick but more damaging water.

Anja glared at the ice as she stopped, but the glare soon became a smirk. "I get your little plan. You want me to melt the ice then hurt myself in the resulting water. Guess again." She spat out an extra concentrated jet of flame, aimed at the ice, melting it and creating steam from the icy trap. The steam became a thick curtain, veiling Anja from view.

Belle growled, staying still and trying to listen for her enemy. The stream both obscured her vision and her smell. She formed an icy shell around her to guard against, or at least weaken, any fire attacks.

A blast of fire it the shell, turning it to scalding hot stream as well. "Silly, stupid little mutt." Anja's voice stated somewhere nearby "Do you honestly think Ice will stop me?"

Belle's body tensed, ready to either retaliate or evade. Of course this was always the problem she had against the Phoenixes: her usually powerful ice attacks did little to them. She and Caleb could chew them up real good if they managed to get close, but that didn't seem to work against this girl.

Anja came up from behind, wrapping her arms around Belle's throat to put her in a head lock, her body igniting again as she pulled the ice changeling against her.

Belle yowled as the flames scorched her, thrashing madly before finally passing out.

Anja dropped the changeling, letting her flames flicker out. She was breathing a little harder than usual, but she felt fine, and she had gotten that out of her system. It was good to get that crap out of her system before she snapped.

Voltaire had already knocked out Caleb, so the match was over. They were announced the winners, and the audience cheered.

"Hey, Voltaire, Gimmie your shirt" Anja stated as the walked back over to Ava.

Voltaire peeled off his top and tossed it over to Anja.

"You did good on your first match, Anjy!" Ava praised.

"...Yeah," Adair answered a bit awkwardly, but smiled anyway.

Anja mumbled something unintelligible as she pulled the shirt down over her head. "How do I blow out the white flames?" She asked, holding out her bloody arm and motioning at it.

"Take a deep breath and have the intention of healing instead of burning," Adair explained.

Anja looked at him blankly then held out her arm farther. "You do it" She stated. "I'll practice later."

"Alright," Adair replied, breathing some white fire over the wound to heal it. "It's kind of hard to explain, sorry."

"We'll be stopping at the medical wing for a bit anyway," added Ava.

"I just wanted to stop bleeding" Anja replied, climbing up onto Ava's back.
