This Is Love (MSPA)

"Okay" John whispers "Maybe dad won't notice if we play footsie at dinner" He smiled like the derp he was. "I don't think he'll mind if we stay up here all day though."

Dave smiled softly and pressed his face into John's neck, inhaling his scent. "I'd like that. Staying up here all day, I mean," he murmured.

"Me too" John sighed. "I like this. Being close to you I mean. Best summer ever."

"Yeah," Dave agreed. "Best summer ever. And I plan to make the most of it."

"Me too!" John chirped. "I'm gonna show you all my favorite places and all the best things to do and everything" He giggled. "Cause, y'know, we're together now"

"Yeah. Yeah, we are. In both the literal and figurative senses of the word. A grade-A motherfucking high-quality item right here," Dave said with a soft chuckle.

John giggled. "Dave, you're so cool" he grinned, cuddling closer to him.

"You know it, Egderp," he teased, kissing John's forehead.

The two of them stayed up in John's room, cuddled together beneath the blankets, until they were called down for dinner around seven. Dave strutted down the stairs (careful not to trip and fall) and walked into the kitchen with his arms casually around John's shoulders. "Dinner smells great, Mr. Egbert," he commented nonchalantly, taking a seat by John at the table.

"I would hope" Mr. Egbert smiled, lifting the lid to the dish in the center of the table. "John told me its your favorite"

John smiled sheepishly. "I didn't think you'd remember anything I told you"

((LOL I'm assuming it's spicy chinese food, since that's what we always claim as Bro and Dave's fave foods.))

"Ohman, Mr. Egbert you are the best. It is you," he said, staring at the steaming pile of food on the table. It was his favorite. It's generally accepted name was General Tso's Chicken, but really it was just spicy-ass chicken in a sauce, served over a bed of rice. He and Bro had it at least once a week, and he didn't think he would ever get tired of it, especially the homemade kind. "I could eat this stuff every day."

"I remember when you bragged about eating it for a straight week" John giggled.

"I made extra sauce for you also, since I've been told you like it spicy. John can't eat it too hot, but I figured you would want to." Mr. Egbert stated, passing him a gravy boat filled with more sauce.

"You know, Mr. Egbert," Dave said in his most deadpan voice as he looked at the man over the top of his shades. "I think I love you."

The cool kid made himself a big, delicious pile of food in the middle of his plate and dumped sauce all over it, making sure every grain of rice was dyed the same deep, brownish-red. He waited patiently until everyone at the table had a plateful, then dug in hungrily, licking excess sauce off of his face periodically and occasionally flashing John a grin when the boy's father wasn't looking.

John blushed everytime Dave grinned at him. Thankfully his dad chalked it up to the spicy food. Hesitantly, he slid his foot along Dave's under the table.

Dave rolled his eyes behind his shades and slid his foot up John's shin, trailing the toe of his shoe down the back of the boy's leg; all of this he did without once looking up from his food or giving any clue that his mind wasn't solely on dinner.

John inhaled sharply from the action, dropping his fork and starting to cough since he inhaled some rice with his air.

"Jegus, John, breathe much?" Dave asked, leaning over to clap John on the back. When he was sure his boyfriend wasn't going to choke to death on his dinner, he shook his head exasperatedly and went back to eating.

John blushed darkly and bowed his head over his plate in the hopes no one would see.

Mr. Egbert raised a brow. "Is everything alright here, or should I leave the two of you alone?"

"Everything's fine dad, the bunny's in the box." John replied hastily.

Dave finished his monstrous plate of food, making sure to get every last grain of rice, and took it over to the sink to rinse it. He stopped to ruffle John's hair affectionately on his way back to his seat. "Yeah, everything's fine, Mr. Egbert. John's just being aderpable. Aren't you, John?"

John mumbled something.

"You can eat more you know, I know the two of you are growing boys." Mr. Egbert stated

Dave let out a soft chuckle, not enough to totally blow his poker face. "Naw, Mr. Egbert, I'm good. Thanks, though, man. You want me to rinse that plate for you, John?"

"I can do it!" John protested, his plate much messier than Dave's had been. His face was still dusted a light pink color.

"Naw, man, naw. Let me get this," he said, taking the plate from John's hands. "No need for my best bro to be getting up and doing shit when the cool kid's around."

"But you're my guest!" John protested, jumping clumsily to his feet.

"Yes, but you're my best bro, and I am the cool kid. It's cool for me to do shit for you, because you are clumsy and aderpable," he said, starting to rinse the plate.

"I am not!" John protested with a darker blush then the one he had already been sporting.

"Soooooooo" Mr. Egbert interrupted smoothly "Who wants to go out for ice cream?"
