Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"We need to find a dance instructor sometime," Maple said as he leaned back. "Otherwise it's the blind leading the blind."

"Another quote?" Pheobie asked

"Saying, yeah," Maple replied. "Pretty self-explanatory. If you can't see, wouldn't you much rather prefer to be lead by someone who can?"

"Yeah, it makes sense. I was just asking if it was another saying" Pheobie replied. She leaned over and laid her head in his lap.

"It is," answered Maple, flushing slightly but not as bothered by Pheobie as he thought he'd be. Something about her made him so relaxed. He tousled her hair, and then began to stroke it.

Pheobie smiled. "That feels nice." She murmured. "But it makes me sleepy."

"Why did you lie down if you didn't want to sleep?" Maple teased. "That's usually why people lie down."

"Because your lap looked comfortable and I like to lounge." Pheobie replied.

Maple just chuckled and began to stroke her shoulder. "So feeling lazy then?"

"A little" Pheobie admitted

"Me too," Maple answered, leaning back again. "All the things in the universe to do, and I don't feel like doing aaaaaany of them."

"How much longer till we get to your world?" Pheobie asked, rolling onto her back and reaching up to play with a strand of Maple's hair absently.

"Hmm, shouldn't be much-" Maple began, before he heard the ship give a dismissive ding. "Well, there we go."

(while Maple technically started out in a Pokemon story, I don't know if I would consider this his homeworld in this story or not.)

(He said before that his original homeworld was destroyed before, so go with that)

Pheobie smiled. "Should I change clothes or are these okay?" she asked

(yeah)

"Hmm..." Maple replied, looking at her outfit. He did like the outfit very much. Unfortunately so did everyone else. "Go ahead and change into something more...casual. We might be traveling quite a bit on foot, and you don't want to get your good clothes ruined."

"I thought this was casual" Pheobie replied. "What should I wear?"

"I was thinking more like jeans to protect your legs from sharp grasses," Maple explained. "But it's really up to you." He wondered if he himself should get changed.

"Okay" Pheobie smiled. "I think I have two or three pairs of skinny jeans. Pick a color"

"Orange," Maple answered somewhat sarcastically. "Well, what colors do you have?"

"Blue, Black and White. But I can make the white ones any color I want" Pheobie smiled. She sat up "I'll find something to go with that."

"Sounds good," Maple answered. He had almost forgotten about her color ability. "...I wasn't really serious about the orange, by the way. Go with whatever color you want."

"But I like orange." Pheobie stated. She stood up. "Don't worry. I'll look fine" She grinned at him before going off to her room to change.

He watched her go. Maple was sure that whatever she wore would look great. After lounging on the couch for a few more moments, he decided to go get changed himself.

Pheobie picked out a bright green spaghetti strap to wear over an orange tanktop with her orange jeans and a pair of bright green flats. She replaced her black headband for an orange one. Then she skipped out to go find Maple.

Maple was in the lounge waiting. He was dressed in dark blue jeans and light blue shirt. By his side was a worn navy backpack, stuffed with the unique supplies this world often demanded.

"Ah, Pheobie! You look lovely!" he greeted. "Ready to go?"
