Sweet as Sugar

"I'm like that with salmon," said Melly. "It's a type of fish. I like seafood, but I don't like salmon. Can't tell you why."

"I don't like fish" Mu replied.

"I didn't think you would," said Melly. "...Why are we talking about every other food except what we're eating?"

"We talked about the pizza" Mu replied.

"For about two seconds," Melly answered, putting down her half-eaten slice. "I'm full."

"Already?" Mu asked.

"Yeah," Melly replied with some embarrassment. "You can have as much as you like though."

"okay..." Mu frowned slightly. "You don't eat much..."

"I had three and a half slices," said Melly. "...Or was it four and a half?"

"Three" Mu confirmed. "But you eat so little compared to everyone else I know"

"How much do the others usually eat?" asked Melly.

"Well almost everyone could probably eat most of this by themselves. Except Edwin. He's a vampire." Mu stated. "And Hao. But Hao only eats vegetables or sweets."

"Well, I know some people who could eat half of this, maybe most of if they were really hungry," replied Melly. "But for a human three of four slices isn't unusual."

"Oh... Well we don't have many humans at the Cirque" Mu stated

"I guessed," Melly replied with a grin. "I suppose we humans aren't as interesting as most other creatures, at least not at a circus."

"Well there's Teddy, But he eats alot. And uses fire." Mu looked thoughtful.

"I know a lot of people in human circuses are either acrobats or natural freaks," replied Melly. She decided to have one more piece of cheese pizza.

Mu smiled. "I guess that's true." He ate another slice.

"Have you ever seen other circuses?" asked Melly.

"Once or twice. Edwin likes to try and steal other circuses acts." Mu chuckled

"Yeah, I've heard circuses are like that in general," Melly answered through a mouthful of pizza. "If one circus goes down all the others flock to it to claim their best acts. I imagine it happens when the circuses aren't failing either."

"Yep sounds about right" Mu smiled

"So what did you think of those other circuses?" asked Melly.

"Boring." Mu replied.

"Boring? How so?" asked Melly.
