Thunderstorm

Ross chuckled. Walking around the stables the wall lined with hutches. "They're mostly labrats and cute creatures the cheer squad likes to keep track of."

"So they're cheering creatures?" Mikaela asked in slight confusion.

Ross laughed. "Sort of. They cheer and bring moral support for the sport teams."

"I'm just trying to imagine that," Mikaela replied with a snicker.

Ross nodded. "We could always go to a basket ball game and you can see it for yourself."

"Sounds fun," said Mikaela.

Ross chuckled. "It is. But football is better. We don't have many games scheduled though.."

"So there are more basketball games?" Mikaela asked.

Ross nodded. "They're set for this time of year. Football is more of a early fall thing."

"How come?" asked Mikaela.

Ross shrugged. "We only have one coach for the major sports. Plus football is played outside so it needs to be done in reasonable weather."

"Fair enough," Mikaela replied. "So what is basketball like exactly? I mean, Ive heard of it, but I've never actually seen it played."

Ross laughed softly. "It's like a lot of sports. The goal of the game is to get the ball across the court and into the net."

"So like soccer then?" asked Mikaela. She had seen some of that in her travels.

Ross chuckled. "It's the same concept. Though instead of kicking the ball to the goal you have to dribble the ball to the basket and throw it in. I can't say I like the game very much."

"Dribble it?" asked Mikaela. "What, you have to drool on it?"

Ross chuckled."You have to bounce the ball over and over while running. You'll have to see it."

"Yeah," Mikaela replied. "I'm having trouble picturing it. It sounds kinda stupid."

Ross shrugged. "It isn't horrable or anything. Just weird."

"I suppose I've heard of weirder things," Mikaela replied lazily. "Like black cats cause bad luck."

Ross chuckled. "Actually jinxes are like that. Black cats that give and feed off bad luck."

Mikaela chuckled. "Blondie is a superjinx apparently. Soul's almost completely black. He's stupidly sensitive about it."

Ross shook his head. "Nah, jinxes are rare. He probably just has bad luck or some sort of spirit following him."

"Black in the soul is bad luck," Mikaela clarified. "The soul's made up of black and white. White is the good luck, black is the bad. Of course most people think the white is the good in the soul and the black is the evil in it. I think that's really what his damn problem is. He's been old he's supposed to be evil according to his soul and therefore feels obliged to act like an asshole most of the time."

Ross shrugged. "I don't quite understand crap like that."
