Rain Dance

Voltaire climbed up onto one of the higher spots in the cavern. This way they had some privacy, and any invaders from below could easily be fried.

Kimi followed him, taking a seat next to him, but still being quiet.

Voltaire appreciated the quiet after all the nonstop questions in the cafeteria. Still, Kimi's silence bothered him a little. "Didn't get too spooked back there, did you?"

"No" Kimi replied softly. "I just don't like crowds"

"I don't mind crowds, but when everyone's trying to talk to me at once about something I don't know about it annoying," Voltaire replied. "I guess I can't blame them for being curious, but I wish they would listen to me the first time I sat 'I don't know'."

Kimi shrugged. "Excitement creates selective hearing." she stated

"I guess," Voltaire replied. "I know Ava's like that sometimes."

Kimi smiled. "There's a difference with Ava. She has trouble understanding and just jumps to conclusions. I think every one else thought you were lying and trying to keep it all to yourself." She took a bite of apple. "So what's with Belle and Adair?" She asked once she swallowed

"Adair tends to attract fangirls. Belle is a fangirl type, and so is attracted to him and follows him everywhere," Voltaire explained. "Mr. Heros' a bit intimidated by her. He's shy around girls in general, especially crazy ones."

"Shame. She seems nice" Kimi shrugged. "You should help him out."

"She is nice for a wolf. Apparently raised by humans, but the humans got killed in a raid or something. She wants to become stronger to protect others. That's why she's here," Voltaire went on. "Not sure how much I can help with her and Adair. I'm not a matchmaker. Usually works better if it happens naturally."

"I ment, help Adair not be shy around girls." Kimi stated. "Matchmakers are evil."

"I've tried. Usually doesn't work," Voltaire answered. "I think it's more his damn Hero breeding than anything else. Must stay noble and chaste and all that crap."

"Think I should try?" Kimi asked

Voltaire shrugged. "You could try, I guess. Don't guarantee any results though. It's gotten worse since...everything."

"Becoming a changeling?" Kimi asked

"Since the Gales tried to kill his heart," Voltaire clarified. "Though I guess it's practically the same thing. Adair gave his heart to Ava to save what was left of it."

"Oh. Well finish eating so we can do some training." Kimi motioned at the bag.

"Right," Voltaire mumbled, extracting some of the bag's contents and beginning to eat them.

"We can think about Adair later." Kimi stated. She leaned over and kissed his cheek lightly. "Now we have to think about the match and preparing for it. Right?"

Voltaire nodded. He would have kissed back if he wasn't eating. Now that he was starting to really think about the match it was making him nervous.

"So the dragons are..." Kimi frowned, thinking. "Water and electricity right? So they have the tactical advantage. That means we have to act fast and hit hard"

"Yeah. Problem is that's their strategy too," Voltaire grumbled, munching on a carrot. "They get you and everything else wet so that their shocks go everywhere. The faster we can wrap this up, the better."

"I still have my barrier" Kimi reminded him. "don't forget about that."

"Oh yeah," answered Voltaire. "That should help a lot, actually. Fiona should too. I'm guessing I'll need to guard while you summon, right?"
