"Yeah, but I'll be fine on my own after that." Kimi smiled.

Voltaire worked on the last of his remaining food. "You need to learn fire acceleration. It'll make you slightly faster than the Dragons if you need to run. Of course the real trick is controlling it and not letting it propel you into a wall."

"Its all about putting a fireball in the right place, isn't it?" Kimi asked, lighting her fingers on fire.

"Yeah, forming a fireball behind your back. You can also light your arms and bend them back for extra speed," explained Voltaire. "It's not hard to do. It's just a pain to control sometimes since you're going way faster than normal."

"Okay. It'll be easier since I know the basics. You can show me when we train." Kimi stated

"Okay," Voltaire replied, finishing up his meal and crumpling up the bag. "You ready?"

"Yeah. I'm ready" Kimi smiled.

"Alright," Voltaire replied, burning up the bag and tossing away the ashes. "Let's go then."

Voltaire was glad the gym area wasn't crowded. Then again it wouldn't be, since most of the competitors were gone by this point.

Kimi followed him, looking more cheerful than serious. "Where do we start?"

"Well...fire acceleration I guess," Voltaire replied. "The open space should make it easier."

"Okay. Show me and I'll see what I can do" Kimi grinned.

"Alright," he answered. He focused and took a spread-eagled position. His arms caught on fire as a fireball formed behind back. He shot forward, leaving a trail of smoke as he dashed around the gym.

Kimi watched before trying to mimic his actions. It only ended with her stumbling.

(she won't get this before the match. also, her scars on her arms are revealed by the short sleeved shirt. forgot to mention that before)

Voltaire glanced over to see how Kimi was doing and noticed her struggling. While he wasn't looking he ran straight into one of the practice target sacks, which knocked him back onto his butt.

"Why don't we move onto something else" Kimi suggested

"Yeah, let's," replied Voltaire, getting up and dusting himself off. He was glad Mikaela or even Adair weren't here to see that. "Well, can you set your arms on fire?"

"yes. But is stings my scars a little bit" Kimi admitted.

He noted the scars with a flare of anger. That bastard was going to die. Period. "Well, go ahead and beat the crap out of one of the sacks with your hands and arms. I know you don't really know combat, but you'd probably be doing it more as a way to drive them off than as a serious attack."

"So... Flail?" Kimi asked

"Well, a bit more focused than that," replied Voltaire. "Really Adair better at this kind of thing than I am...whatever, I'll show you."

He went over to a nearby sack, lighting up his arms. He then proceeded to punch and chop at the sack quickly.

Kimi watched for a few minutes before trying herself.

"Put more force behind your blows," Voltaire advised. "Like you're pissed off at them and want it to hurt."

Kimi nodded and used more force. She wasn't putting her weight behind it, but it was enough to rattle the target some.

"Keep it up, only try to put more of your body into the attack," Voltaire suggested, watching Kimi beat on the target. "It'll add more power."

Kimi nodded and put more force into her blows.
