Rain Dance

"Oh" Kimi mumbled, all but asleep on her feet.

"Eh, whatever. I'll wait until later. Too much crap going on to plan a ceremony right now," Voltaire replied. "I'm going to bed."

Kimi nodded. "Bed" she mumbled. "Sounds nice..."

Voltaire stood there trying to figure out how to lie down while he and Kimi were leaning on each other. "Can you stand on your own for a sec?"

Kimi stopped leaning on him, but she was very wobbly on her own. "Better?"

"Yeah," he said, lying down on the furs. "You lie down too before you fall over."

Kimi nodded and started to sit, only to fall on her but with a giggle. She laid down and cuddled close to Voltaire. "Night Taire" she murmured

"Night angel," Voltaire replied sleepily, embracing her and soon falling into slumber.

(fast-forward whenever ready)

Kimi slept deeply and had no trace of a hangover when she woke. She carefully slipped from Voltaire's arms to sit up and look around. Ava wasn't in the room

Voltaire soon got up as well, yawning and stretching. He had a slight headache, but it wasn't too bad.

"Good Morning" Kimi chirped. "I didn't wake you did I?"

"Nah," Voltaire replied, rubbing some of the sleep out of his eyes. "We'll need to get going soon anyway. Where's Ava?"

Adair was still asleep at the corner of the nest.

"Maybe she's getting breakfast" Kimi shrugged.

"Probably," Voltaire guessed. He wondered if he should wake Adair yet, but decided to let him be.

"Do you want to go get something to eat before we leave?" Kimi asked "We should go soon if you want to"

"Yeah," Voltaire replied. "After this we'll have to hunt and feed off of supplies."

"I can help hunt" Kimi smiled. "Then we can bring back twice as much."

"True," Voltaire replied with a smirk. "However, point is our diet is about to get less varied. We might as well enjoy the rarer stuff while we can."

Kimi nodded happily. "Okay. I get it."

"Then let's go," said Voltaire, leading the way.

Voltaire hated it when it was loud and crowded at the cafeteria, but this emptiness bothered him too. Only a couple of lagging demons were around, and they were taking their food to go. Ava was not one of them. He guessed she was somewhere at the heart market.

Kimi held Voltaire's shirt again, though she wasn't bothered by the stillness.

Voltaire had mostly fruits and vegetables on his plate, knowing that he would be eating plenty of meat during their travels.

"Another tournament come and gone. Seems like we practically live at them."

Kimi got fruits as well. "well, you kind of do." she pointed out.

"Yeah, guess you're right," Voltaire replied. "It helps fix Adair some and it offers protection from the Gales and other Heroes and Hunters. We'd be stupid not to do it."

"True." Kimi chirped. "Its nice to because you're not alone"
