Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"Not really" Pheobie replied. "I actually feel kind of queasy from teleporting."

"Really? I'm sorry dear," said Maple, now heading over to get some potato chips. "We'll take some of this with us for later."

Pheobie yawned slightly. "I can cook later too" she reminded him.

Goldie came up to her trailing his leash and put his head in her lap.

"Ah, did he behave himself?" asked Maple, pointing to Goldie.

"Yes, wonderfully," said a female cooworker. "He's like my Snubble. As long as you give him lots of attention he's fine."

"He's a good baby" Pheobie cooed, petting him thoroughly.

Goldie happily soaked up the attention, though he was tired. Being around so many attentive people had wore him out.

Maple meanwhile happily ate the food available at the feast. Unlike Pheobie he was very hungry.

Pheobie stayed in her little corner, waiting patiently. Goldie fell asleep with his head in her lap.

The Pichu studied Goldie curiously, climbing down and sniffing at the griffin's large head.

Once Maple finished his meal he went around staying quick hellos and goodbyes to everyone. Groovy followed Maple closely.

Pheobie fell asleep sometime between the two, leaning back against the wall.

"Pheobie, are you-" Maple began, before he noticed that she was asleep. "Hmm..."

Even in her sleep, Pheobie looked sad.

"You know what this calls for, don't you professor?" said one of the coworkers.

"Eh?" asked Maple, confused.

"You'll have to carry her," said another. "Bridal style." Some of the others began humming out Here Come the Bride[i].

"I-I am not ready for anything like that!" Maple exclaimed, his face turning red.

Goldie twiched and woke at the humming. He looked around in slight confusion as to where it was coming from.

"Well you can at least carry her, right?" asked another coworker. "C'mon, be a man!"

"Of course," Maple answered with a huff, though he still felt embarrassed. Carefully he picked Pheobie up, hoping she wouldn't wake and wonder what he was doing.

Pheobie shifted and her head thumped against his chest. "mmmmmm" She mumbled in her sleep.

Maple froze when she shifted and hummed, and then carefully continued on. There was some quiet cheering from his coworkers as he boarded the ship. Goldie followed, but not Groovy. The plant lizard looked upon the ship with some fear.

Pichu hopped after them fearlessly. He wanted to know where they were going. "Chuu?"

"We're off to another world," said Maple. "You coming?"

Pichu looked back to Groovey before dashing up the rest of the way after them.

Not wanting to be upstaged by a Pichu, Groovy climbed aboard as well.

"Alright then," said Maple. Adrianne Pokeball was still with him. "Away we go!"

The ship's door closed. Groovy looked apprehensive about this but soon followed Maple.

Pheobie hummed again in her sleep.

"Chuu?" Pichu asked

"She's tired," said Maple. "Going to take her to her room, and then we're off to the next place."

When they reached her room Maple carefully laid her in bed, pulling the covers over her.

Goldie climbed up into bed with her, and the frame creaked in protest.

Pheobie stirred slightly.

Maple paused to she if she was going to wake up, and then went to set the coordinates for the next world.

The Pichu climbed up Goldie's tail and rested on the griffin's head.

Pheobie still didn't wake.
