Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

Maple grew breathless as the climax drew closer, and then struck.

Pheobie cried out in pleasure as she reached her own climax. She lay against him after, breathless and sweaty.

Maple gave her a couple kisses. "Love you dear."

Pheobie nuzzled her face into his chest. "Love you too" She murmured

"I know dear," Maple replied, resting his arms around her.

Pheobie smiled. "That was nice." she mumbled. "I liked it."

"Me too," replied Maple. "I'm glad the feeling's mutual."

"Maple, Can I stay with you forever?" Pheobie asked softly

"If there's no place else you want to go, then sure," replied Maple, stroking her hair. "Not that I really know where I'm going myself, but you've probably already know that by now."

Pheobie chuckled lightly. "I know, and I don't care. Being with you is the best." she murmured.

"As long as you understand that," Maple replied, giving her another quick smooch. He yawned loudly.

Pheobie nodded. "I do..." She murmured softly, her eyes drifting closed.

Maple nuzzled her hair and soon fell asleep

(fast-forward whenever ready)

Pheobie woke first again, though instead of getting up, she just lay there, enjoying the closeness.

Maple slept on, muttering something in his slumber before pulling her closer.

Pheobie blushed with a small smile and nuzzled his chest lightly. She liked being this close. It was nice.

Maple's slumber was rudely interrupted by a blaring siren. He woke with a startled yelp, trying to figure out where the noise was coming from.

Pheobie jumped, clutching the blanket to her in shock. "What's going on?" She asked, completely startled.

"I don't know," Maple admitted, scrambling around before finally locating the source: his GS. He plugged in his mike and headphones as he answered. "Yes?" he asked with some annoyance.

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" trumpeted a loud, angry voices that could be heard even without the headphones. "I'VE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU SINCE YESTERDAY!"

"...You have?" asked Maple. He wondered how he was going to explain this.

"Anyway, get back to base immediately!" the voice continued. "It involves your old chief, so I assume you want to be here."

Maple felt his blood freeze. "...Of course, sir. Be right there," he answered somewhat quietly, as the call ended.

Pheobie looked frightened at Maple's change in tone. "Is everything alright?" She asked, holding the blanket up to cover her.

"...No, dear, it is not," Maple answered, his tone still quiet. He searched for his clothes and began to put them on.

Pheobie caught his arm. "What's wrong?" She asked in concern

Maple looked away. "Chief's involved. Bad news. He's dangerous."

"I-Who?" Pheobie's frown intensified. "I don't know what's going on Maple, I-I'm a little scared..."

"It's alright," Maple soothed, rubbing her back. "Chief's...been a problem for a while. Remember those ghost things we were talking about in the previous world. He's one of those, a strong one."
