Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"Oh." Pheobie looked up at him sadly. "And you knew him?"

"...Yeah," Maple answered. "For a very long time."

"I'm sorry" Pheobie stated softly

"It's alright, dear. It's not your fault," Maple assured. It was mine

"I know, I'm just sorry for you. You knew him, and he seems like he was a friend, someone you were close to, and I'm sorry you have to feel the pain." Pheobie murmured

Maple just nodded. "Thank you dear. I need to go set the coordinates for the base."

Pheobie nodded. "I'll go take a bath..." she murmured.

"Alright," Maple replied, turning to go to the control room.

Pheobie slipped out of the bed and gathered all her clothes. She headed to the bathroom.

Maple headed to the control room, putting his GS back on as he walked there.

He mused over what to do with Pheobie as he set course for the base. If Chief was involved then taking her with him on the mission was out of the question. Still, he didn't want to just leave her alone.

He heard a plain meow and looked to see the cat strolling over. Its tail twitched.

"Well, at least she has you guys, right?" Maple remarked.

The cat meowed louder, jumping into his lap.

Pheobie got into the bath, Goldie following her into the room. He tried to stick his head into the bath water but Pheobie pushed him away. "No Goldie, don't drink that!"

Maple sighed, leaning back in his chair. "What was I thinking, taking her along like this? This is dangerous business. It hasn't been that bad lately, but-"

Maple winced as the cat began to knead on his thin pants as worked to get itself comfortable.

"Stop that!" Maple protested, forcing the cat to lay down. It got back up and started kneading again. "I said stop!"

Pheobie sighed and laid back in the warm water.

Goldie observed her for a few minutes before suddenly and unexpectedly jumping right in the tub, splashing water everywhere.

Pheobie gave a small shriek in surprise.

(My cat did that to me once)

(I've had dogs do that to me, only I was trying to wash them anyway so it was conveinient lol)

Maple heard the shriek and sat bolt upright. "Pheobie, you alright?"

"Goldie just climbed into the bathtub!!" Pheobie replied trying to shove the griffin pup back out but having no such luck.

Maple couldn't help but laugh. It was a relief. "Need any help?"

"He won't get out and he's laying right on top of me!" Pheobie replied.

Goldie, thinking she was playing, started shoving back.

With some chuckles he went back to assist. "Coming dear."

"Goldie-Goldie no!" Stopit!" Pheobie growled in frustration.

Maple soon arrived on the scene and dragged Goldie out by his collar. "No. Find your own bathtub."

By the time Maple got in there to help, most of the bathwater was gone. Pheobie sighed in frustration. "Now I have to run more." She grumbled

"Out," commanded Maple, causing the griffin to slink outside. Noe that the Goldie was gone he suddenly became aware of how naked Pheobie was and how horny he was feeling. No, this was not the time...

Carefully, as to not slip on the sopping wet floor, Pheobie climbed out of the tub and wrapped her nude body in a towel. "I'll clean this up too" she sighed to Maple, unaware of how he was feeling. "Though with how soaked Goldie is, I might have to follow him with a towel to clean the ship."

"Oh yeah," Maple aswered, noticing the long wet streak outside. "I'll take care of the pup. You relax."

Pheobie sighed. "Maple, you should be the one relaxing." she stated. "You're the one that has all the stress."
