Rain Dance

Kimi led him to the medical wing. "Where's Ava?" she asked him

"...Somewhere toward the back," Voltaire replied. By now he had broken into a sweat. The pain in his back just kept rising and rising.

Kimi pulled him along until she found Ava. "Ava!" Kimi exclaimed. "There's something wrong With Taire" She stated with worry.

Ava hurried over to get a better look at Voltaire. "Volty? What's wrong?"

"Back..." Voltaire muttered. "Back hurts bad..."

"Your back?" asked Ava.

"Back...back..." Voltaire repeated, nearly doubling over in pain. He cried out as red wings erupted from him.

Kimi stumbled back in surprise, letting out a small scared noise. "Taire!" She exclaimed

"Volty!" Ava exclaimed, also surprised.

The commotion drew out the mostly-healed Adair from his room, and was just as shocked as the other two. "Taire?"

Voltaire didn't reply to any of them, except for singing. His pupils were dilated and were possessed by a reddish tinge.

"Wh-what's happening?" Kimi asked in shock, terrified

Voltaire flapped his wings and flew over Ava and Adair.

"Volty! Come back!" Ava called, following as fast as she could. The cave hall wasn't wide enough for her to spread her own wings. Adair hurried after her.

Kimi watched them in shock before taking off after them.

Mikaela was having an argument with Omen when Voltaire flew past them, nearly knocking both of them over. They stared in wonder, their fight forgotten. Ava and the others dashed past them without an explanation.

"So wings just burst from his back?" asked Adair.

"Yes!" Kimi exclaimed. She was terrified of what this would mean for Voltaire.

Voltaire flew on for a while longer, before settling just short of the outside. The wings burned to oblivion while the song died away.

Kimi rushed over to him. "Taire? Taire are you alright?"

Voltaire was asleep, his breathing slow but peaceful.

"Volty seems to be okay," said Ava as she and Adair came over. "No rushing heart or anything. We'll take him back to the medical wing to make sure though."

Kimi nodded, biting her lip.

Adair helped carry the slumbering Voltaire onto Ava's back. When everyone was back on board she headed for the medical wing.

"I don't think he should fight tomorrow" Kimi stated finally.

"I don't think so either," replied Adair. "Something like that is probably the result of too much demonic energy. Besides, I remember feeling terrible after the wings happened to me. He probably won't feel that good either."

Kimi nodded. "I guess You should train me a little more, So I can be ready to fight" She stated, looking up at him

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," answered Adair.

Voltaire woke with a slight groan. "What happened?"

Immediately kimi threw her arms around him. "Taire!" She exclaimed

"Kimi?" asked Voltaire in confusion. He tried to think back on what happened, but it was mostly a heated haze. His back had hurt. His back had hurt a lot. It still hurt even now. And then... "...Wings?"

Kimi nodded. "Are you okay?" She asked softly

"Back stills hurts, though not nearly as bad as before," Voltaire replied, rubbing his back some. "Head hurts a little too. But other than that I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Kimi asked
