Have a Heart

Daniel subconsciously moved in front of Ellona, sword ready. "All your local monsters this horny?"

"Mating season" Ellona stated. "Minotaurs are a male only race"

The Minotaur made another strange noise.

"Say no more. I'll end the disgusting thing now," Daniel said, rushing toward the beast.

"Wait!" Ellona tried to warn him, but too little too late.

The minotaur swung its arm and knocked the hero off his feet.

Daniel was soon back on his feet, glaring. He should have known better than to try a direct assault, but Clarent had done little for his recklessness. If anything, the lack of fear increased it.

"Let me distract it, then hit it from behind, that's the only blind spot" Ellona stated, moving to keep the Minotaur's attention.

"Alright," Daniel replied, nodding. He knew Ellona was a capable fighter and wouldn't be helpless.

Ellona called out to the minotaur, causing to to move towards her faster.

Daniel swiftly looped behind the lusty creature's, stabbing deep into its back.

The minotaur roared in pain, jerking around and pulling the sword from Daniel's hands, the blade lodged deeply in his back. He started towards Daniel.

Ellona drew her sword and threw it like a javelin, embedding it at the base of the Minotaur's neck, causing to to drop dead to the floor. "Don't you know to aim for the spine?"

"I was!" Daniel protested, pointing to where his sword was in the dead minotaur.

Ellona frowned and came over to investigate. "Why on earth did it keep going then? It should have been paralyzed"

"Sheer willpower?" Daniel guessed.

"... Well it is a big boy." Ellona stated, raising her brows and nodding to show that she was slightly impressed by the large, barbaric beast.

"It's dead, and that's what counts," said Daniel, pulling out his sword.

Ellona braced her foot on the creature's back and yanked her own weapon free. "I suppose"

"Do minotaur usually attack this castle?" asked Daniel.

"Not the castle, but the surrounding area, and usually only in during the mating season." Ellona explained. "And we don't usually get them this big."

"I see," Daniel replied, taking out an old rag to wipe the blood off his blade.

"Gregory, clean this will you?" Ellona asked to Gregory as he came down the stairs.

Gregory rolled his eyes but lifted the hilt off over his head as he got closer. He held it as if it still had a blade and pointed it at Ellona's sword.

The blood slipped off the blade silently, drawn to the hilt, forming a red blade as it touched. There was only enough blood to make a dagger sized blade.

"Happy now?" Gregory grumbled.

"Very" Ellona smiled lightly.

"What kind of weapon is that?" asked Daniel, curious.

"An ancient magic one." Gregory grinned. "This is the devine blade, Aquas"

"What does it do exactly?" asked Daniel.

"Well, It can harness the very molecular-" Gregory started, only to be cut off

"It makes water a weapon." Ellona replied, "Liquids in general actually." She pat his shoulder with a forced smile. "No one should have to listen to his explanation."

"HEY!"

"I see," Daniel answered. "A useful weapon to have."
