"Oh. It's a bit different where I'm from," said Daniel. "Any royal family can promote someone to Hero status, not just Hero-class royals."

"Well only heroes can promote here." Gregory reiterated. "And Lona isn't exactly good about playing nice with royals."

He wondered if he could get his dad or uncles to agree to it. He doubted it.

"Does it have to be the head of the family? Or do they just have to be from a Hero class family?"

"Has to be one of the higher ups in the family. And the head of the family has to oversee it anyway." Gregory replied.

"Makes sense," Daniel answered. "Can't have just anyone promoting people."

"I personally think that any higher rank within the class should be allowed to promote." Ellona stated.

"I agree," said Daniel. "Some of the best Heroes out there are ones that self-made, not bred."

"Just look at King Arthur." Gregory stated.

"He was from a family of knights, wasn't he?" Ellona asked

"He was," replied Daniel. "But it still took great strength to reach his level."

Ellona nodded.

"I think Ellona knows how much work it takes to become a hero more than anyone." Gregory stated. "You were born into the rank, she's working her way into it from being a girl"

"Can't argue there," Daniel replied. "We had a good match."

"Most of the hero families around here won't promote her. She's knocked one too many of them on their asses in a serious fight." Gregory stated.

"That should be all the more reason to promote her," Daniel said with a smirk, before his expression became more serious. "Still, that is a problem."

He paused, considering his optins.

"Most are firm believers of Women should be seen and not heard." Ellona stated

"I might be able to talk Bowan into it," mused Daniel. "As long as you're not evil, he likes and respects you."

"Do I look evil to you?" Ellona asked with a cross look as if he had insulted her.

"Yes." Gregory replied, giving her a look similar to the one on her face.

"Anyway, I suspect he'll come visit any time now," said Daniel. "Said he wanted to visit me and my new fiance."

Ellona glared at Gregory. "Have I ever done anything to make you believe I was evil? Anything deserving?"

Gregory continued to return her look. "Yes."

"You can be quite intimidating," remarked Daniel.

"So? Intimidation can be a good thing. Especially in battle." Ellona replied.

"I didn't say it was a bad thing," answered Daniel. "I just said it was true."

"It was the way you said it." Ellona grumbled.

"I suppose..." Daniel replied, before there was a knock on the door.

"Um, Princess Ellona, do you know where your fiance is?" asked a somewhat timid voice. "Uh, if you do, please tell him he has a friend waiting for him."

"Is Bowan here already?" Daniel wondered. "He's never been the patient type."

"Grow a spine" Ellona snapped at the messenger, waving Daniel away.

"Have fun, I'll teach you more later" Gregory smiled

"Alright, sounds good," answered Daniel, leaving with the timid messenger.

By the time they got to the entrance (which took awhile), there was a warrior slightly younger than Daniel restlessly pacing nearby. His armor was a light blue compared to the deep blue of Daniel's, and his hair was a sandy yellow compared to Daniel's plain brown. He soon noticed Daniel and hurried over to him.

"Hey Daniel! How are you?" asked the blue-eyed Hero cheerfully.
