Sweet as Sugar

"If you want, I can lay with you." Mu offered softly. "Like I used to do for Hao"

"...Let's go inside," said Melly. "Wouldn't help much with all this smelly trash around."

Mu nodded, letting her go and following her back inside.

Melly went past all the random projects and sat on a small couch at the corner of the room.

Mu followed and sat next to her. He pulled her into his lap and cuddled her close. "You can go back to sleep if you'd like. I'll hold you" He purred, nuzzling her hair.

"Mmm," Melly hummed back, leaning into him.

"Its alright" Mu purred. "And I promise to be here when you wake up"

Melly already felt herself growing sleepy. "Thanks. You're sweet."

Mu chuckled softly. "Thanks. Its because of all the sugar I eat" he smiled

Mu giggled. "You are what you eat."

"Yeah" Mu chuckled. He kissed her temple. "Go to sleep~"

Almost on command Melly drifted off into a deep slumber.

Melly woke up feeling peaceful and warm. As she noticed Mu she soon realized why, with some embarrassment. Still, it was nice, just staying here like this. Besides, she didn't want to disturb Mu.

Mu stirred slightly. He had fallen asleep with his head stretched all the back on the back of the couch. His arms were wrapped around her with his hands laying lightly on her thighs.

Mell had to giggle a little at Mu's silly sleeping position. Carefully she tried to slip out of his arms.

Mu frowned in his sleep and his arms tightened slightly. "Special person...." He mumbled. "Melly"

Melly froze, waiting for him to relax again. "But special people don't stay special," she murmured mostly to herself.

Mu leaned forward and rested his head on her shoulder in his sleep. "Always be special..." He mumbled. "My one..."

Melly sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. It didn't look like she would be leaving anytime soon.

Mu purred softly, nuzzling her shoulder. "Melly..." He must have been dreaming about her

Melly felt guilty. This boy really did love her. But she couldn't love him back. She was too scared of love to let herself get that close. "I'm sorry..." she murmured.

Mu stirred again. He was starting to wake.

Melly stayed still, seeing if he would go back asleep.

Mu slowly opened his eyes with a groan then closed them again. "Melly?" he asked softly "Are you awake?"

"...Yeah," she finally answered. "So, um, sleep well?"

Mu smiled slightly. "Yeah. Did you sleep okay?"
