Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"To be honest, I'm not entirely sure either," admitted Maple, still staying hidden. "I mean, I've heard plenty of it from here and there, but I haven't actually...done it before. Which is a bit embarrassing for my age really."

Pheobie sighed lightly. "So are you mad at me?" She asked again. "You won't look at me..."

Maple peeked out from under the covers. "No, I'm not mad at you. I just...feel really awkward. I don't really know what to say."

Pheobie sniffled and slid over to the opposite side of the bed. She curled up on her side with her back to him. "I don't know what to do..."

(How good is Maple's luck?)

(haven't really thought about it, since he's outside of the Nightbreak story. His luck must be really good though, considering all the random and unnatural crap he's survived without becoming fully corrupted)

Maple emerged from the covers and held her. "It's not you dear, it's not you. It's me. I feel like I took advantage of you, even though it was to cure the poison. How are you feeling, dear?"

Pheobie sniffled and curled against his chest. "A little sore" She mumbled.

(So he's up for a little bad juju? Cause I've got an idea for a little scare for him. How do the words 'false positive' sound?)

(lol. Could be fun. Btw, won't there be blood on the sheets since Pheobie was obviously a virgin?)

"I thought you might be," Maple replied, resting his head on top of hers. He knew intercourse was supposed hurt more for the female. "Just take it easy, okay?"

(Yeah, a little bit. lol. How will Maple get her to do a pregnancy test?)

Pheobie nodded. "okay..." She closed her eyes. "I have to get up soon to cook." She mumbled.

(...I don't know if he even has anything like that aboard. It's not a problem he's considered before XD.)

"No hurry," Maple told her. "Just some sandwiches later would be fine."

Pheobie opened her eyes and looked up at him. "Are you sure?" She asked quietly.

"Yeah, I'm sure," Maple replied, giving her a small kiss on top of her head. "I don't need anything fancy."

"Okay..." she closed her eyes again. "You'll stay here with me right?"

"I don't have anywhere else to be," Maple replied.

Pheobie gave a small smiled and nuzzled his chest slightly. "Thank you..."

"Welcome," Maple replied in a sleepy sing-song voice.

Pheobie slowly drifted back to sleep.

Maple soon fell asleep as well, feeling a bit more assured.

(fast-forward when ready. Maple will sleep far longer than Pheobie does)

Pheobie woke sometime later, still sore, but less so. She slipped out of bed, carefully as to not wake Maple, and walked to the bathroom to take a shower.

Maple mumbled a little when she left but otherwise remained asleep.

Once she was properly cleaned and dressed, Pheobie made her way to the kitchen, where she found the entire second pot of stew still simmering on the stove. She shut it off and moved the stew to the refrigerator. Then she retrieved the dishes from the lounge and proceeded to wash them.

Maple woke up by falling off the bed. He let out a panicked yelp and then sat up in confusion, looking for Pheobie. When neither she nor her clothes were to be seen Maple assumed she had already gotten up. He began to pick up his own clothes and put them back on.

Goldie had followed Pheobie to the kitchen and was laying by her on the floor as she did dishes.

Pheobie was standing slightly awkwardly because it hurt slightly in her special place. It was only a dull ache, but it still made it hard to stand up straight.

Maple followed the scent of food after he got fully clothed. Groovy greeted him happily before sniffing him and giving him a curious look.

"...I guess I do need to shower," noted Maple. He decided to go greet Pheobie first though, and went over to the kitchen. "Hello dear."

Pheobie looked up from the dishes. "Hullo" She murmured

"Feeling alright?" Maple asked.
