Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"sore." she replied, turning back to the dishes. "Are you alright?"

"Stinky, according to Groovy," Maple replied with a smirk. "But otherwise fine."

"Are you hungry?" Pheobie asked "There's still stew."

"Shower first, then stew," answered Maple. "It'll probably take a little while to get ready, right?"

"All I have to do is heat is back up." Pheobie stated. "So it shouldn't take more than a minute or two."

"Well...might as well wait then," replied Maple, going over to the couch and plopping down on it.

Pheobie retrieved some of the stew and microwaved it. She took it to Maple, streaming hot, a moment later with a spoon.

"Thank you dear," replied Maple, taking a spoonful and blowing some steam off.

"Think your friends would like more?" Pheobie asked.

"Probably," Maple replied. "At the least Voltaire will probably want his hair and skin changed back."

"I can do that." Pheobie replied.

"And if he decides to be rude after that, I'll turn him into a rooster or something," Maple answered lazily.

"You can do that?" Pheobie asked, blinking in surprise.

"With the GS I can," Maple answered. "Remind me to put it back on later. There's no point now since I'll be showering after this."

"Oh, Alright" Pheobie nodded. "I will."

"Thank you dear," Maple replied. "And the soup is delicious. Did I tell you that before?"

"I think so" Pheobie smiled. "Thank you though"

"Welcome," Maple replied as he worked on his meal. "After this we'll go explore, unless we run into our firebreathers first."

"Okay" Pheobie smiled. "That would be nice."

As Maple took another sip of his soup he noticed some spurts of flame hitting against the window. "Looks like they already found us. Go let them in."

"Okay." Pheobie stated. She walked to the front and opened the big door. "Hello?" She asked tentatively.

"Hi!" greeted Ava, as she and her two changelings came aboard to greet Pheobie. "Feeling better?"

Voltaire stayed quiet, somehow looking both apologetic and surly at once.

Pheobie nodded. "There's still a whole pot of leftover stew if you're hungry. All I have to do is heat it up" She offered

"Sounds great," replied Adair, before giving Voltaire a nudge.

"Can you fix me?" asked the Hunter.

Adair frowned and gave him a harder nudge.

"...Please?" Voltaire added quietly.

"Yes." Pheobie replied. "So long as you don't throw anything else at my head." She gestured for them to come in.
