Some Things Just Can't Be Understood

"Mmmm. Hot. And a little dizzy." Pheobie mumbled.

"Do you want some water? Or some more stew?" Maple offered.

"No. I'm not hungry or thirsty." Pheobie sighed. She returned Pichu to its pokeball.

"Is there anything you do need then?" asked Maple, sitting down next to the bed.

Pheobie rolled onto her side and pouted at him. "I want you to lay with me" She stated

"...Eh?" Maple asked, giving her a blank stare. Then he shook his head. Get your mind out of the gutter. She just wants to cuddle you in bed like a teddy bear or something.. Carefully he laid down next to her. "Now dear, you need to be careful of how you say these things..."

"Say what things?" Pheobie murmured, Cuddling up next to him and wiggling to get comfortable

"Lay with me," Maple answered. "It could mean just laying down with someone, or...less innocent things."

"Well I don't know what else it could mean." Pheobie pouted. "I just want to be close to you for some reason."

"...Nevermind," replied Maple, laying one arm over her. "It doesn't really matter."

Pheobie hummed as she cuddled her head under his chin. "If you say so"

"Mmm," Maple hummed in reply, as he rested his head on top of hers.

"Maple?" Pheobie asked softly "My stomach feels funny"

"Not going to throw up, are you?" asked Maple.

"Not that kind of funny. Warm funny" Pheobie mumbled. "Kinda tickly"

Maple wasn't sure what to make of that. "Do you think it something in the soup?"

"No, It started before the soup. I thought I might be hungry, but that wasn't it." Pheobie replied.

"Wait, isn't that where you got bit earlier?" asked Maple.

Pheobie shook her head. "No, lower, but the bite did feel funny too"

"Did it start after the bite?" asked Maple. "Voltaire seemed to know something about it but wouldn't tell me anything other than it was called a Little Death and it wouldn't kill you. Does that ring any bells?"

Pheobie shook her head. "I don't know anything like that. But it did start after the bite."

"I see," Maple answered, before letting out an annoyed huff. Why did Voltaire seem downright amused by the possibility of her being poisoned? The Hunter could be obnoxious, but he usually wasn't that bad. "It's not hurting or anything, right?"

"No." Pheobie stated. "But it feels funny"

"Well I'll be right here if you need anything, alright?" replied Maple, stroking her hair.

(Maple is completely clueless on this type on thing lol)
