Saving Soul

"Shut up and go to sleep" Anja murmured happily.

"Mmm-kay," Adair hummed in reply, reply, embracing her and rest his head on hers. He was soon asleep again.

Anja liked the closeness and warmth. And, honestly, the soft feathers didn't hurt either. It wasn't long before she was lulled to sleep.

"...Up! Time to get up!" Ava chirped, as Ava lifted her wing. Adair gave a protesting groan at the sudden sunlight and buried his face in Anja's hair.

Anja shifted and stretched. "Morning" She yawned

Her shifting and stretching caused Adair to fall over, startling the sleep out of him.

"...Morning," he muttered in reply.

Anja chuckled lightly. "You okay handsome?" She teased playfully.

"Yeah," Adair replied, sitting up and stretching. "I've had worse falls."

There was a sleepy groan on the other side of Ava, as Voltaire was roused against his will.

"We going to the village today?" Anja asked

"That was the plan, right?" said Adair.

"You are staying." Anja stated. "I am going."

"We'll be going on the trip," Adair replied. "We'll have to ride Ava there. But we won't be going into the village itself."

"Alright. Any one want to make a list of what I need to get?" Anja asked, rolling her eyes slightly

"Uh, yeah, that would probably be a good idea," said Adair, trying to find the stash of paper he had found yesterday.

"Looking for this?" Voltaire asked blandly, handing him some paper as well as a writing instrument.

"Thanks Taire," Adair replied, beginning the list. "Let's see...we should be good on food for while, but some bread and vegetables to go along with the meat would be good...we could use more clothes, though it might be hard to find our sizes...uh..."

"I could use more bullets," Voltaire added. "I have my own mold for them, but bought stuff is less likely to misfire on me."

"If I'm getting bullets, I'll need your gun." Anja stated "It'll be suspicious if I buy bullets but don't have a gun." She turned to Adair. "What kind of clothes do you need?"

"Just...something common, nothing fancy," Adair replied. "Something that can travel well and last a while."

Though he didn't seem happy about it, Voltaire took his gun out of its holtster and gave it to her. "Here. You'll need to so you can get the right bullets anyway."

Anja held her hand up to signal Voltaire to hold up a minute. "I know that Adair, I'm not one of those stupid noble girls that you heroes are used to. I ment what kind as in pants, shirts, etc."

"We all know you don't want royal clothes," Voltaire added with a smirk.

"...Right," Adair growled back, not liking beign ganged up on. "Work shirt, khaki pants, that kind of thing."

"Okay so you need pants and shirts. Is that all?" Anja asked patiently. She held her hand out for the gun from Voltaire. "Holster too."

"Yeah, that should be it," Adair replied.

Voltaire handed Ana the gun. He took the holtster off his belt and gave that to Anja as well. "Do you know how to use a gun?"

"You put the bullet in, point and pull the trigger." Anja stated. "got an extra belt? If I put this in my pocket, the pants'll fall down. And what clothes do you need?"

"Same as him. Shirts and pants," Voltaire answered, fishing out a belt from his clothes pile. "This good?"

Anja slipped the belt on and put the holster on the belt. "Yeah, It'll do. Thank you."

"Good," Voltaire replied, turning away.

"How long do you think it will take to go buy everything?" asked Adair.

"A good half a day." Anja replied. "Plus I have to carry it all by myself."
