Saving Soul

"If you make me mad, I'll take some of your stuff, because that's what we agreed to," Voltaire replied blandly. "Of course if Mr. Hero makes me mad, then I take his stuff."

"So if you make us mad, we can take your stuff?" asked Adair.

Voltaire paused. "...Fine."

"Oh. Well I can live with that." Anja shrugged. "Ava, where's the nearest village?"

"Mmm...A couple hours' flight away," replied Ava, before yawning. "But it's getting dark now. We can go there tomorrow."

Adair found himself yawning too. "Agreed."

"That's fine." Anja smiled. "But after we go there, we'll need to come back here any way and get the last of what we missed. Sound good?"

"Yeah, that sounds good," Voltaire replied, leanign back against Ava.

"I thought we were going to appease the Ravens with the hideout's location?" asked Adair.

"Screw the Ravens. They can find it themselves."

"I agree." Anja stated. "Besides, there's a village close by which means we can use the money or get more sacks to hold the rest."

"Fair enough," amswered Adair. He tracked down a couple blankets among the supplies.

"But I'll need to borrow a shirt from one of you. This one's a little blood stained and ripped and I don't think I'd be welcomed in this." Anja stated.

"True," Adair answered upon glancing over to Anja. That shirt brought him bad memories. "Well you could try one of my shirts, though they might be too big. Taire's might be a better fit."

Anja looked between the two males for a moment. "Yeah, His would fit better. You're built more like a stone wall than a decent person. 'Taire' on the other hand, why fix him up pretty and he'd make a nice girl."

Adair snickered. Voltaire gave a defiant snort.

"Well, whatever. Mine should fit better," grumbled the Hunter, taking out a worn borwn shirt and some khaki pants. "Here stonewall, give these to her."

Adair caught the clothes and then handed them to Anja.

"Thank you." Anja smiled. "Voltaire, turn around. unless you'd rather I change outside."

"I'd rather have you changed outside, but I think Mr. Hero would be disappointed," Voltaire replied with a smirk, turning around.

With an angry flush Adair also turned.

"What, you're not going to look?" asked the Hunter impishly.

"You know, I think I will change outside if the two of you are going to be that way." Anja sighed. She stepped outside and took a good look around to make sure Omen wasn't about.

"What the hell are you so shy about?" Voltaire teased. "It's nothing you haven't seen before."

"I know," Adair mumbled. "But I have some decency. Unlike you."

"Sayas the guy who started making out in front of me the other day," Voltaire countered.

Satisfied, Anja pulled her shirt off and fumbled with her pants.

"Oh that," Adair noted boredly. "That was just to piss you off."

"Oh really?" Voltaire growled back.

"Stop fighting," chided Ava, tucking them both under separate wings. "Sleep."

Anja finished stripping and slipped voltaire's pants on. They were very loose and barely stayed on her hips. The shirt came on next and she tucked it in because it was too long. She grimaced, it was very loose but it would do.

"You're stupid," Voltaire grumbled from his side.

"You're selfish," Adair grumbled back.

"Hush," said Ava gently but firmly. "Sleep."

Anja burned her old shirt but kept the pants, they weren't too bad. She stepped back into the cave, blinking in surprise. "Where'd they go?" She asked

"They're here," said Ava.

There were some sleepy mumbles under Ava's wings.

"Ah. Which one is hinding my wall?" Anja asked making a small gesture to her wings.

"This one," said Ava, lifting her left wing slightly to reveal Adair curled underneath it.

Anja smiled. "Thank you Ava" she sighed, crawling under the wing with him. She cuddled up to him happily.

Adair was startled out of his light doze. "Oh hey Anja," he greeted drowsily, nuzzling her back.

As soon as Anja was comfortably settled Ava draped her wing over them.
